Return to club activities from 29th March 2021

All,

Good news – club activities are back 😊

In line with the second part of step 1 of the Governments roadmap, currently due to commence on 29th March 2021, formally organised outdoor sport and physical activity is able to restart.

We are therefore pleased to announce that the committee are planning for a return to club activities from this date.

On Road club rides & chaingang

Officially British Cycling-affiliated club rides can take place for upto 15 participants, however riders are still required to maintain a ‘1m+ distance’ from others. Therefore, for ease of riding on the road at this distance, being mindful of public perception (especially when in club kit) and the space required when gathering at start/finish and during mid ride stops, the committee have made the decision that in the short term we will recommence on road club rides and chaingang subject to the rule of 6 that we all know and love.

We know that everyone is looking forward to being able to join club rides again and are sure that you can all understand this conservative decision for the next few weeks. We will review the situation again on April 12th when the Government will give further guidance on step 2 of the roadmap.

Trail/CX/Grass/Off road club rides:

These may resume for upto 15 riders

TT:

Please see the recent TT forum post for an update – we are hopeful for a return to the club 10 at the end of April (28th) with the possibility of some early season 25’s subject to police approval.

All other events/racing/coaching:

Subject to BC guidance, further details will be communicated on the forum by individual organisers.

As a reminder, when participating in club activities please follow all relevant guidance on hygiene, sell sufficiency and equipment sharing as well as the usual guidelines on self-isolation if you have any suspected Covid symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive within the last 10 days.
Official CTT guidance can be found here and BC here

We look forward to seeing you soon
