  • Hi Chris

Call your insurer - you might get your bike put on free - as a separate, quoted item. It will then appear as such on your policy. I know people have done this either without a problem - or by kicking up a fuss and threatening to go to another insurer who will.

Having said that - I'm lazy - I have my bike on as a paid extension to my contents policy: something quite reasonable like £27 a year, top of my head. Direct Line.

Oh yeh - put on your best Hertfordshiresbury accent.
  • british cycling have a very worthy scheme..worth a look if you can find it among the mess that is the BC website.

Marks & Spencer Home Contents Insurance covers up to £4,000.00 for cycles, which is far more than most policies. It was about the best that was on offer when I last renewed and had got a good rating in cycle magazine artical I read at the time.

  • Excellent, thanks very much. Looking into changing my home insurance provider to someone a bit more cycle-friendly!
