CCA London Lads Christmas Lunch! Thurs 15th Dec
Calling all commuters! I've been mentioning to a few of the lads on the train the last few weeks about the idea of a London lunch. So - who's up for it?
I thought Look Mum No Hands would make a good place for it - maybe 'a bit Shoreditch' - but decent pies.
I'm suggesting Thursday 15th Decor Friday?
The loose agenda would be lunch at LMNH whilst insisting they play the TdF highlights on the big screen, then onto Condor for a mooch around for an xmas pressie to ones self via a few of London's best pubs in the area [on boris bikes?]. Basically, I'll be booking the afternoon off. I could definitely see it all getting a bit Dine Bangla later on.
Of course, CCA non-commuters, out-of-towners and day-trippers most welcome. Maybe cycle down - it's only 43 Earth miles. As are those who just want a pie and then get back to the office.

can't do the Friday but can do the Thursday :-)
I'll be there with Dave - my old school chum - not 'Saturday Jones'.
We'll be charging our LMNH flagons: the last one to down his ale in one is a bounder. Spillage!
put me down for the thurs
tally ho

PS will be keeping my pants on though
I can do both days

A recent little video on LMNH here. Sam King [CCC] told me two of the three owners are from Ashwell. Maybe we can get a discount!?
I might cycle in on that day if the weather's OK. Anyone wanting to do the same - note my offices are nearby to safely stow yer bike til later on 7pm+ train: or another day.

At least when I recently spoke to him (sorry can't remember name) he told me about his cafe for cyclists. Course..could be a different cafe. Hope that helps.
I see they brew their own beer called slag and have a fridge packed with Belgian ales.
Sarah's career prospects may take a tumble!
Will update later in the week
Fellas - I thought I'd put together a loose agenda. I might flesh it out a bit more once I can focus again after Saturday's wrestle with a keg of Titanic. Women and children first!
I'm suggesting gathering at LMNH at 1pm.
Then, sometime after, a meander around some of the nearby finest pubs in London - if not Britain. As well as mosey into Condor. Beware that ale and testosterone can loosen wallets! Anyone joining later on - give me a call to see where we are. We won't be far from Clerkenwell/KingsX.
I'm thinking of these sorta locations.

Might cycle in to London, in the morning, after rush hour.
Looking forward to playing "Blind Man's Rapha" with you in Condor. Put on a blindfold - run headlong into the Rapha aisle or where they keep all their nice range of handlebars - and see what falls into your hands and then watch as your bank account magically disappears.

I am sure 7pm will come quickly.
See you there
Righto - I've booked a table for 8 [I appreciate people are coming/going - I'm sure 8 will be fine]. Booked under "Cycle Club Ashwell" from 1pm.

See you later - there, or in one of the nearby pubs, 07977 652 247
Looking forward to it!

Jess having work bash too... kids needing taxi rides everywhere etc
Big shame....
But have a great time boys!
Hopefully, I won't miss the all-important lining of the stomach phase.
The Mitre pub does a good selection of beige food: pork pies, sausage rolls, toasties if we need to top up later.
get your 'gearing' right- 4x1 i reckon
4 beers an hour nice steady spin followed by some interval shots and a massive sprint finish with wind behind!!
partttyyyyy!
Well organised - many thanks.
Trust all went well after I left you in the dungeons of The Strand.
