Saturday 10th March 9.30am Geography lesson

edited March 2012 in Club runs
Hello All,

I've noticed in the last couple of months that most people out on a Saturday morning seem to have absolutely no idea where they are going :-)

So, I thought that it would be a good idea to have a guest ride once a month where somebody else plans the route and does the junction direction shouting. The first of these rides will be this Saturday.

To make it dead easy, you don't even have to design a route as there are loads on the forum (http://www.ccaforum.co.uk/?CategoryID=12) so just pick one that you like the look of and post it up as a ride, or go mad and design one all by yourself !

If I don't get any volunteers then we are going to do the super hilly Royston M/W route.........twice !!!

Happy planning.

  • I shan't be out this Saturday due to prior commitments but am very happy to do the honours next time around. I've got a few solo rides I do that tend to be a bit different to the usual Saturday rides (not better, just different!)
  • Hi Bryan

Sounds great - I'll pencil you in for April !!

Can't bare the thought of the mind- numbing M/W/E route even once, even less a geography lesson!!

So I am happy to 'lead' tomo

Either out towards Buntingford- 45 miles (ish) @ 15mph if that suits....or a lumpy one round Hexton where one of the Sat Group Chiltern Medio Fondo riders has been getting some cheeky miles in!!

    A clue?

This person is unable to drink on the move so has to stop!!

David- can you e-mail this to the usual suspects please
  • Cheers Scouse !!

I'm liking the sound of heading off towards Hexton - haven't been that way for ages.

Hmmm cheekie stealth training........who can that be ????

  • Might see you all going the other way...

    detention for being late!!

i wont rub salt into the wounds by saying what a good ride it was...

  • I missed your class too... Albeit by about 1 1/2 hours!! Oooops

I too studied on my own, which wasn't fun in that wind!!

and the 9.30, which i will be on wiv me mate from london

    hope you sorted new bike
  • What is the 9:30??

Just got the insurance replacement, nothing fancy - that will come next year if I am still riding :0)
  • about 50 miles at 15-16mph i think

cant get there for nine cos my mate is driving up from london
  • Do you mind if I join you?
  • Great ride today, out to Hexton via Langford and Henlow and returning thro Graveley and Weston

Nice and lumpy. Started off far too chatty, but by the time we got back it was quiet and some wore the '1000 yard stare' with tired legs and dazed and glazed eyes!!

Award for 'most aggressive rider' goes to Emma, who beasted herself and her fine new steed to within an inch of their lives- she will be smashing in a few 10's this year- I feel sorry for you DJ, AND MANY OTHERS!

It was like a huge peloton today!

Great ride, great to be back!
  • Lloydy- get on it!

    see you tomo at tuns
  • Cool. See you in the morning

Great route today Scouse! Lots of lumps and bumps with a fast start & finish.

Unfortunately Emma was still riding like Fabian Cancellara on the way back to Baldock post Tuns so I just saw a blue dot disappearing into the distance !!! I'm going need some new legs at this rate just to have any hope of keeping up :(
