Nice one. Anybody else out on Saturday? I'm getting worried that Robbie's spending more quality one-to-one time with me than with his missus at the moment... O-O
Ride report for CTRL-ALT-DEL PhilA (done a one-handed on that turbo yet?). Cracking ride round Hertford/Ayot St. Lawrence/Hexton. Six out initially with a couple of peel-offs on the way round. Quite spicy in places (usually when Jez was on the front). Robbie and MC ON THE GEARS. Met a large blue train coming towards us near Whitwell, it looked like twenty plus riders! We continued to stir it occasionally from Hexton for 65 @ 18. Jon won the sprint, but then had the shakes in the Tuns! Robbie feels the need to upgrade again to a plastic Madone next week. My fitness is coming along nicely, although I have just had a short kip... Shaun
CRT-ALT-DEL here. Successfully completed four turbo sessions this week, with today's being the most arduous. Completed 100km with a number of 5mins blocks at hill repeat (336watts - 354watts) and steady state (304watts - 320watts) pace; it was a toughie, but perversely it was most satisfying. Tomorrow 100km again all at endurance pace (up to, but no more than 258watts), and absolutely no intervals. Only 7 to 9 weeks to go before back on the road and determined to return in good shape. Subject to Carmelo's say so, the Primavera RR is now a strong motivational objective! - thanks guys.
It would be pretty amazing; however, I think just finishing is my first and only priority, let alone making it the start line.
TURBO BLOG! Today's turbo session (Sunday ride) was another 100km monster! A Large proportion (>60mins) of it was ridden at Tempo (283-300watts) pace - I ought to explain that the power zones being referred to here are the result of having undertaken a power/endurance test, they are not random figures plucked from thin air just in case anyone was wondering. It was the power-house Mr Tim H that always encouraged a more scientific approach to training - Thanks T. I intend to do much shorter sessions Mon - Fri. Keep you posted. Cheers all.
Sorry - Appear to have missed something here and assume Phil you have had a smash? Mend well if i am correct, mind you i wouldnt put it past you taking on this form of training
btw small Charge Duster frame will be for sale in a week if you are interested?
He cycled into a dog and fell off. Broke his hand bad. It's wired and plastered. Comeback goal is the Primavera. Training for it in his garage. Currently, he can't do CTRL-ALT-DEL very well to log on to a computer.
