Saturday 31st March 9.30am ride
Hello All,
Thought that we could have a rest from the hills this week and do a bit of a flatter one 'up North' !

Slight change to the route - going to go out via Hinxworth and the back down Northfields.
Lets hope the forecast is wrong and its still going to be gloriously sunny and warm...........
See you Saturday,
DavidJ

FYI - regarding the route, I'd recommend at mile 24 riding down into Great Gransden then picking up Waresley Road back to Waresley then onto Gamlingay. It's a little more lumpy but avoids the fast stretch on B1040 where most cars zip along 70+. Great if you like that sort of thing, but it's not my cup of tea :-)

Pace started off high and just got quicker throught the ride. Thanks to Vic and Scouce, it was an excellent masterclass on how to ride a flat route very quickly indeed ! We wizzed through Potton and Gamlingay and briefly saw Bob's group just past Tetworth Hill where we swapped a couple of riders. After a brief stop for a mechanical (hope you got home ok with you broke spoke Gary) it was more of the same all the way to Northfields where the pace went supersonic and I dropped off the back :)
No idea who won the sprint - would have needed binoculars to have any chance of seeing it !!
Back at the Tuns were arrrived back at exactly the same time as Bob's group who by the sound of it had also zipped around their route too. Final stats for our ride were 42 miles @ 17mph avg !!
Thanks all for a great workout - my legs still hurt now!
