Saturday 1st September 9.30am multiple rides

edited August 2012 in Club runs
Hello All,

Three options for tomorrow morning:

First is the 53 miler that ChrisP suggested earlier in the week (http://www.ccaforum.co.uk/comments.php?DiscussionID=2324&page=1#Item_0) that heads out the back of Royston http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/fullscreen/130306163/

or if that a bit too far/hilly then there is the Ashwell-Shepreth-Bourne-Caxton-Gransden-Shingay-Ashwell route that most of us didn't do last week and is a bit flatter/shorter

And finally there is the intro ride for an easy spin.

So many choices !!!

See you in the morning,

  • I have three options for the above route, the original 53 miles, shorter 48 miles or shortest 38 miles, so everyone is catered for!

Time to warm up those legs, cold this morning.
  • Thanks to all for a great ride today...even though inadvertently ended up on the longer ride! Thanks to Shaun and Gary for keeping me going towards the end.

  • Fourteen (I think!) of us out this morning. We all decided to start on Chris's tour above and headed off towards fowlmere. Bob and a couple others left us at the 505 to do a flat 40 and the rest of us headed onto the lumps, bumps and mystery lanes of cambs/Essex. A great rolling route which most of us had no idea of where we were for most of the time!

Dropping into more familiar territory and away from some crazy drivers and hedge cutting tractors, we came back through Barkway, Buckland and onto the sprint at slip end. After Emma wound the sprint up it was a straight fight between alpine Shaun and Ponteus..........

Thanks again to Chris for the excellent route, we would do it again if I could remember where we actually went!!

    Final stats were 48miles @ 16.5

    Thanks all,

    DavidJ
  • To summarise in the style of a celebrity's family pub we passed nearby, that ride was Pukka!

Thanks David for taking my suggestion onboard and all those that rode it. Even though we seemed in the arse end of nowehere, there was a route followed!

    Great Chishill-Duddenhoe End-Clavering-Brent Pelham-Meesden-Anstey-Nuthampstead-Barkway-Buckland-Sandon etc. We also climbed 1500ft.

I'll be out exploring some new routes tomorrow for future rides. However after this i can imagine next week will definitely be on the flats!
