Bike Maintenance
As a result of another thread and sticking my head above the parapet there has been quite a bit of interest in doing some kind of bike maintenance I have had a chat with Tim D.
Without having to fork out for a hall and to make this an informal, friendly exchange of views rather than a front loading lecture we will be approching Bill at the Three Tuns to see if he would mind us setting up a maintenance frame in the bar on First Tuesday Evenings so that we can dicuss that month's topic or any other problems people may be having with their trusty stead.
We are both pretty busy over the summer period but would aim to start putting a session on in early autumn.
Is this something you would like us to do. I hasten to add that neither of us are professional mechanics but both of us regularly build and maintain bikes for racing and for friends.

It's a promotion for Fenwicks cleaning/lube products, so I'm not sure how much help it'll be for maintenance/mechanical tips, but I'll give it a go

I'm proposing to do a short piece on rear mech adjustment at the November first Tuesday meeting at the Three Tuns. I'll probably do a whole cable replacement and cover on the road adjustment as well.
See you there.
Richard
What time are you starting? I'll be there:)
thanks

Work is looking good to allow me to start at 8.00pm.
See you there!!
Richard
I felt this was a good and worthwhile contribution to 'the club'...
Now I'm almost looking forward to finding a fraid cable end, so I can have a go at replacing it. (Though 'almost' is the most important word in that sentence!)
