Getting all my weekend miles in on Saturday, as helping out at the Primavera on Sunday. Hoping to make it out to Oundle, Northants (NW from Ashwell). About 100 miles. Quite a few new roads available! Reasonably flat route (bit like an extended Grafham run). At least one cafe stop. Route details to follow...
  • I'm marshaling on Sunday too so should be up for this. Will be my first hundred so flat is alright with me.

  • Nice one, Johnny.

A note on Robbie's 18mph average. Depends a bit on who's out. We'll ride at a pace suitable for the group as a whole.
  • If I join in, then except me to bail at maybe 50-ish miles as I've not ridden 100 miles as yet.
I'm happy to join and try and keep up, only on the understanding that you don't go at my pace.

If, as happened last time, I fail to maintain an even 19mph+ in the early stages, allow me to bail early & at my own volition & sort my own ride out so as not mess up the ride for the stronger riders amongst you. My aspirations oft' out-perform my actual abilities.
  • Sounds good to me,I'm in
  • I'll be there - looking forward to it
  • Tim, it'll be fine! Just take enough food & water you don't want to bonk
  • Is there a stop or are we non-stop?

  • Look like a fantastic route an extended grafham sounds amazing (was a great run out last year) fingers crossed for the weather!
  • One of those rides that you don't wanna miss...
  • The ride is on Saturday, MC...
  • For those needing to be back home in time for Christmas, I have pals in Huntingdon and will bail out to theirs (likely) between the two caff stops, if not before.
You can then pick up the pace again.
  • you bet robbie.. Are we gonna try and do these every month now? (With the exception of the chiltern-100 month, someone said)
  • Working mate or would be there have great day. Mg.
  • Shaun... got a gpx file for the route? Cheers

i'll meet you in blunham at 8.45'ish
  • Nice one. Looks like we have a blue train...
  • I would love to join this, but a century is beyond me at the moment...by the time I'm ready you'll be on 200 miles!
  • Barny.
If you too join in the ride, we can maybe ride together* if we get dropped?
My best is 76 miles and that was hard graft.

*That doesn't mean we're engaged or anything, just a ride option; knowing you salty ol' navy types.
  • I don't think it's a question of 'if we get dropped', more like when! I was looking for a challenging 60 miles or so and have to be back in Hitchin by 1pm anyhow.

Gilgy, we went out on a Sunday club run a few weeks back and you helped with one of my 2 punctures. I like to take a mechanic along with me! I'll give this some thought, curry and beer this evening, so no problems with wind in the sails tomorrow!
  • Guys it looks like I'm going to have to withdraw and spend the day wiring control panels instead. Yay.

    Have a great ride .
  • Have a good one guys, gutted I can't make it
  • Would have really liked to do this one but helping out with village fete.
I have an interesting landscape project at ounce school on the go at the moment.
    Lovely town.
  • Well that was a good solid ride on different roads in Northamptonshire. Nice one Shaun and the blue train.
    109m average 18.6mph.
  • Thanks everyone.
    Was it really that fast?
Enjoyed it - less knackered than last w/end's 75 sportive (thanks to the peloton).
    When's the next one?
