Welcome to the forum
Monday 28th - Club Cresta run
Well 7 souls set off from the Sunday group
( sat group as well , but did not see them )
The magnificant seven some might think
We managed 40 miles in 3 hours
I guess that is 13 mph !
The sun shone and no wind about 4 C
We all felt good , sweating out the alcohol , burning the calories
A self satisfied feeling bonding the peleton and driving us on
Unfortunately had 1 puncture and 5 crashes
puncture at bottom of Buntingford Hill
we waited at the top , went down , went back up
I know how Max feels now
Road back from Buntingford to Sandon DODGY
got off and walked 3 times
(after the others had crashed to show where black ice was - thanks ! )
Only one person had two crashes
I will not say who had such poor handling skills
Affected him that much , he then went on the front to lead us home !
It was a very unusual ride
So lots of interest , lovely clear sunny skies
bike handling demonstrations - the how not to variety
Good to see your fellow club members on the deck
and cross the road to avoid the ice
Nothing like a good samaritan at Christmas
( only hurt pride , all bikes are OK ! )
Some comments about my choice of route
I will not repeat , something about going quicker on a tin tray
Must qualify as an early attempt for a club trophy
Will bring back the most crashes, I think
So will be out Wed
I think most of the 7 will be too
( will avoid buntingford for a few days though )
The magnificant 7 ride again
James
PS most roads are fine

Honestly though, a fun ride. Most roads were fine, we just chose a few that weren't to make it an adventure.
Sorry i could not be with you sounds just my sort of ride,i have been too busy washing, cooking xmas dinner, cleaning etc for my my better half since she broke her arm just before xmas.
Any way got out on my own yesterday afternoon 2.30 for a quick one done less than 6 miles and was hit from behind by
a car, good bike skills stayed in the saddle, not much left of my bontranger xlites now so took the bike to tri sports new wheels now on order see you all soon.HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Good luck trophy coming your way
James
We should be safe in Bob's hands tomorrow
No need for Torville and Deane
but 9 out of 10 for the double twist and crash
