was a good route.
Sorry about the chain break...and big thanks to Gary and Tim who helped me out.
Yes the 11 speed chain was more expensive than 10 speed Jap C***
Adam
Good tempo set by the youngsters at the front meant that the group stayed together up and down all the hills. Tempo was so relaxed that we even had to encourage them to go faster down Whitwell hill !!
Luckily I could remember the way, which was good as nobody else in the group had a clue where they were for most of the time!
Just the one mechanical when Adam's 'spinal tap' 11 speed chain gave up the ghost. Good job we had Gary and Tim to fashion a hasty 'get me to Trisports repair'. Hope your handcrafted replacement wasn't too much Adam ! All of the bikes with Japanese c*** made it round with no probs
A bit of a split in the peloton after the repair as time was ticking on so only a handful back to Ashwell in the end. 42 @15 to finish a glorious autumn ride.
Thanks all for a good morning
Pushing on at the top of hills stops regrouping and weaker riders recovering.
We dropped off around welwyn, came to the top of the hill no one to be seen.
Made it back before you guys, perhaps the two of us should have been a bit more cautious when the two rides stayed as one and done our own thing.
What does not kill you makes you stronger:)
