This was an excellent event this year. I whole heartedly recommend this ride to everyone in CC Ashwell. The course is brilliant; flat for the first half and hilly for the second.

I'm in for the full 100 too. It was great last year - a real challenge. And it's really well organized, UCI sanctioned and all that. The route looks better this time too and I've got the right gears this time... I hope. Same legs though.
Perfect pre-Summer incentive training. So, come on CCA - the more the merrier... Am I selling it enough?
Robbie's in. Cool. As are two others - so there's the gruppetto sorted. Skelders is looking good for it too. There'll be a few driving up and back on the day so no need for too much disruption. You'd be back home 5-6pm ish?
Thinking of entering this, still one or two places left.
What sort of times would you guys be expecting to finish in?
Also, presumably you would travel up together. I'm willing to drive and/or carry bikes if I enter.
Just checked out the course profile, they must have reversed it because it appears hilly to start and flat after!

Hi Peter
Last year, I clocked an easy to remember 7h47m. We stuck together til towards the last feed station. There was great camaraderie.
I bet the route change was from feedback. Last year the climbs were between 50-90 miles in - not really at my best then!
I'd recommend joining in. It feels like a major event. And an achievement.
The route is not reversed from last year, it is completely different. This year starts in Crewe, it was Knutsford last year (wasn't it?). I hope this year is a good as 2009; I thought the 2009 route was cracking. Mow Cop stays in, but those dammed cobbles in Alderley are edged out. The HQ was poor though, so maybe Crewe is better and is perhaps driving the change? I hope the doughnuts stay on the menu!
Robbie and I are probably travelling up together on the day. I have a 3 bike car carrier, so can accommodate 2 in my car with myself. I am happy to drive on the day and won't charge for fuel. Any Takers?
Martin says he's up for it. Have to work out what time to set off. (?)
Big ball ache last time with 'the hour' but managed just to get there before 9am...
othrs stayed local.
Peter. This idea Martin has might be worth considering. It was about 3am that I set off last year (with the hour).
Setting off late Saturday night and getting to Crewe at midnight.
Premier starts at £60. Instead, I've just booked a twin room at the Waverley hotel - it's right close;
http://www.waverleyhotelcrewe.co.uk/rooms.php
Twins are all they've got left - 2 more left. They work out well £34.50. £17 each. top job. Robbie - me and you in here?
Pete - if you can't go up on Sat eve, Robbie - I can take us up in my car.
They've got 2 more rooms left Pete if you want to think about it? And anyone else to make it two in that room? If it's just Pete - we'll divide the 2 room costs three ways.
The lady asked if there was some bike event going on. Everyone asking about secure storage. There ain't - so we'll have to distract security with flashing LED lights and sneak them into the room under blankets.
Hi Cats,
Do we need to get organised anymore than simply meeting beforehand? Is 20 minutes before the roll out time good? (When is that by the way?)
From the above I count a team of 6; Iain, Robbie, 'Ribs' Lawless, Phil K, Peter, and myself. Anyone else? Trahern, take Skelders place, it's a great day out!

Do you tend to drive up together?
Go for it before it sells out!!!

Robbie, any chance of a lift or is your motor full already?

It was a very cold wait to get through the start gate last year; it took me 10 miles or so to feel my fingers again!

Martin / Peter check out...

Pete... Get another room mate and we'll split it.
Thanks again
