Monday Roller Training
Hi all,
The club coaches are going to start roller training on Monday evenings at the United Reform Church Hall in Ashwell. Rollers are an ideal tool for developing your pedaling technique and other balancing skills. Rollers are a key skill for those looking to go on to track riding/racing at Welwyn or Stratford.
This will be a 4 week trial starting from Monday 13th January. If numbers are good we will continue until track training starts on Monday's at Welwyn. The first couple of weeks will concentrate on starting off and stopping safely but we will soon move on to skills and some fitness work. We also have a couple of fitness testing protocols that we can use.
Arrive to set up at 6:30pm, finish by 8:30pm.
£3 per person
Freewheel bikes (with gears) with a calibrated computer preferred but not essential
Up to 2 riders per set of rollers, please make sure you either have a set or have arranged to share with someone
Don't forget a towel and drinks
There is a kitchen for parents to make teas and coffees for themselves
If the sessions go well then we will look to buy a couple of extra sets of rollers for the club to expand capacity.
Sign up below if interested.
Best wishes,
Mark.

Archie would like to attend the session if possible. He has his own rollers.
Thank you
Sallie
Sophie would like to come along but she will be slightly later as she does not get home till 6.30. We have a set of rollers that we will bring along.
See you Monday.
Claire
Archie is welcome, as are you if you want to bring your bike.
Claire,
Setting up is from 6:30pm so it's no problem if Sophie is a bit later.
I will set up a registration and pay station, so sign in and pay your money on the stage when you get there.
Mark.
Monday evening unfortunately but will come along to these sessions as am free most Mondays.
Just to be clear this is not just for youth riders but any club member.
And, yes, that *is* actually Chris Froome in the Sky jersey riding next to Jon at 59 secs.
Future sessions will be more structured with a warm up, skills session then a harder training element.
Any novices should bring a helmet until they can ride unsupported.
