A Cake Ride seems a good idea and I'm in.....we can ride the same route as last time. I feel you should rename it to be a 'Cake Ride', we had lots of takers last time.
Hi, it has been so long since I have been on a ride I can't remember how far the cake run is. How far do you reckon we will need to go to deserve the came stop?
Well, if we meet there, we could do a couple of laps of the car park, and that should be enough. However, if a bit of effort is required, we should meet in Ashwell! Then it'll be about 40 miles, certainly no more than that.

Thanks to everyone who turned out on the Cake Ride yesterday. We had wind, (standard and gusts), rain, hail, squalls, black clouds and blue skies. Treated ourselves to early cake at Jordans Mill.
It would be helpful to have on the forum a list of cyclist-friendly cafés that rides could aim for. So if anyone knows nice places to go, please post them.

Had some good cake at Shuttleworth last week. Very popular with cyclists from various clubs and when the weather is nicer, plenty of space to sit outside. Tied into a version of the 2 bridges ride it makes for a good 40-50 miler. Enough to burn off the cream scones!
