  • Don't understand why you needed to remove the wheels to clean the bike! what you are asking would be like ringing your dentist and telling you have tooth ache. I would guess your rear pads are shot, and your front brake either is damp from cleaning or you have grit on the rotor.
  • The rear of the bike was full of mud from going up icknield way to therfield and just wanted to give it a thorough clean . Cant see the pads being shot as its a brand new bike! Think ive got some lubricant on the front disc which is why thats squeeling but cant understand the brakes ... think im gonna take it back to the shop tomorrow see what they can do.
  • Did you turn the bike upside down? This can cause problems. May need to bleed the brakes.
  • If you have got lubricant on your brake, then you will need new pads as they will be contaminated! and clean your rotor with disc cleaner. Are you sure you haven't accidently pulled your rear brake lever, whilst you didn't have the wheel in the frame? else you could of pushed the piston out and lost fluid. Yes never turn a bike upside down, as you can draw air in and you would possibly you would need to bleed the brake, have you tried pumping the lever up to see if you can get the brake working?
  • Took it to wills bike shed. And couldnt be happier with Daves service . Turned out it was just air in the brake lines near lever from bike being upside down for a while. Brakes just needed bleeding through again . Fixed for a very reasonable price.
  • Also cleaned discs with disc cleaner
