AGM 2014, 24th June, 8.30. NEW DATE

edited May 2014 in General
Folks, we are going to have the AGM at the next Tuesday pub night in the Tuns starting at 8.30.

If anyone wants to stand as a club official please let me know in the next 2 weeks. This is a good chance to come and find out more, tell us your thoughts and come up with new ideas. everyone welcome but only paid up members are allowed to vote.

We have one constitutional matter that needs voting on. Our constitution currently reads…

"Should the Club come to a point where it is unable to operate, then it shall be dissolved by a 75% majority vote of those present at either an AGM or EGM. Any assets remaining in the Club shall be realised and split equally amongst the paid up members at the time of the ?winding up?."

we are proposing changing this to…

Should the Club come to a point where it is unable to operate, then it shall be dissolved by a 75% majority vote of those present at either an AGM or EGM. Any assets remaining in the Club shall be realised and distributed to a cycling body, namely British Cycling".

The reason for this change is in order to keep our Club Mark status. This was granted to the club last year on the understanding that this would be changed at the next AGM and is a standard way of preventing club members taking advantage of money raised in grants. Hopefully nothing too controversial.

The Agenda is as follows;

-Chairmans Introduction
-Election/ reelection of officials
-Officers reports
Membership
Kit
Finance
Website
Others

-Vote, as laid out above
-Open discussion/AOB.

Hope to see a few of you there.

  • I'll try and make an appearance. Can 2nd claim members vote?
  • Hi, no only first claim members can vote, sorry.
  • Hi Shaun.....do still come to the AGM. All riders with the club whether 1st or 2nd claim members still have their opinions and ideas. The AGM is a very important event for the club and should always be well attended. Decisions are made here which are often important for the future direction of CCA and if the AGM is well attended it is far more representative of the club.

This to ALL CCA members. Please get along and share your views with the management so they can move the club in the direction you would like.

Youth especially. Please get along there and give us your ideas.
  • Following on from Geoff's comment regarding ideas from our youth riders...

Rebecca has just been selected to be one of the 12 young volunteers to sit on British Cycling s National Youth Forum.
The forum was set up in 2013 with the aim that those on the forum representing the interests & views of young people within cycling and help to develop future opportunities for cycling & non cycling young people
Last year one of their major achievements was the organisation of the first women’s only Go-Ride Racing

Rebecca has her first meeting in Manchester in mid June & is interested to hear views of all young riders/ young volunteers in the region, about how cycling can be developed
  • Folks,
