CLUB RIDES the main purpose
I think it is time to revisit why club rides are so important.
The club has grown to nearly 200 riders and it is inevitable that there will be different rides to suit different abilities. The start times are all over the place and this is usually to suit specific groups who have other things to fit in on the day. Unfortunately this means that many riders never see other club members.
Why not get back to all meeting at one location at the same start time so everyone can meet and greet.
Perhaps once a month. Obviously there would be too many to all go on one ride, but as we used to do, there would be two or three distinct rides planned with prior notification of the routes for that day and planned average speeds so riders could pre select which rides they wished to go on.
This way starter rides, short, medium and longer club rides could all start together and split off to their various routes. A great way to bond members and get to know one another. This helps to stop cliques forming and promotes our club ethos of inclusiveness.
