conference exploring the benefits of exercise and sport upon the body and mind

edited February 2015 in General
Hi,
have been asked to mention this, taking place in Cambridge in a few weeks.
it does cost to attend, but may be of interest. apparently stephen hawking will be attending the dinner in the evening.

A national conference exploring the benefits of exercise and sport upon the body and mind. Friday 20th February 2015.
Moving Mountains

Moving Mountains is a national conference with a diverse range of speakers exploring the less obvious benefits of exercise and sport, the impact upon the body and the mind and positive implication for chronic disease sufferers.

The conference aims to bring together a wide range of specialists, participants and beneficiaries to explore and reflect upon how exercise, or participation in sport, has enhanced their health in a wider sense than that which might have been expected at the outset.

Three personal stories, supported by talks from relevant experts, will be used to illustrate this hypothesis.

The Conference has the three following objectives:

To appreciate the value of patient-specific goal setting with respect to expectations and quality of life.
To understand the value physical exercises can have on improvements in holistic and specific outcome measures for chronic illnesses, both mental and physical.
To feel confident in incorporating exercise as early as possible in the management of chronic diseases in order to create a philosophy of pre-habilitation rather than rehabilitation.
