I hope the weather is better than today. As expected, lovely summer all week in the office turns to weekend winter!
Set off at high noon for 3 hours of gloomy conditions, unremitting rain, leaden skies and plenty of surface water for passing vehicles to douse you with. Soaked through within 10 minutes. Had to take the clear lens sunglasses off as couldn't see a thing.
Winter bike with full mudguards and lights, 3/4 length winter tights and rain jacket. Average temperature 12C.
Luckily the rain stopped just as I returned home and put the bike in the garage. Flaming June?!!!!
Solo ride for me today. On the bird seed diet again, so keeping to shortish, flat routes for a while as the weight comes off. Lower energy levels and less power on zero carbs, but 15 llbs lighter over last 2 weeks and another 18 llbs to go!
Dry 30 miles @16mph today around Old Warden, Cople, Gt Barford, Blunham, Northill etc.
Good crew out today
Kept route close in case of rain, but was dry after first 30 mins
Out to wimpole, Croydon , gamlingay, potton and back
Flat with one hill, just under 40 miles and just under 17 mph
Nice and steady on a flat route
Captain slow as now has to work for a living, what happened there ?
Sergeant pain wheel sucked until the last 50 metres and took the glory
Great lead out by Dominic
Pete 2 in need of a name change
Come back FD, lost boys welcome

Will be back once I've shifted some more weight... Don't want to push myself too hard exercising on 800 calories a day!
Thanks for the encouragement Pete, much appreciated.
See you all soon
