CCA Christmas London-Baldock bash, Fri 18th Dec

edited October 2015 in General
Probably the day after most people's office Christmas doo I reckon. So take Friday 18th Dec off and ease into the weekend with CC Ashwell's London-Baldock double-header. Hopefully something to suit all members.

Details tbc. But I'm thinking along the lines of previous years. The accent on London's great pubs.

Lunch at Look Mum No Hands, Old Street.
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese pub
Ye Olde Mitre pub
The Jerusalem Tavern
Dovetail

Train Kings Cross to Baldock...

Cock Inn
Curry at Dine Bangla.

Be at the start or join at any point during the afternoon or evening.

There'll be the formal Club awards dinner in February. This is very informal.

Cheers

  • First week in new job, will see where I can meet up
  • Apparently we have a family tickets for Star Wars so I will try and catch you for a short while on my way home
  • Care needs to be taken when catching the train as the one shown in the photo is going to St Albans.

As for you James, I suggest when you get to the restaurant to remember to 'Use the forks'
  • Martin this literally sounds like a day in heaven for the Swans. Unfortunately Lil and I are on our works xmas do that day. We are watching real sporting warriors at the top of their physical abilities throw arrows at a round board! Darts, the sport of champions.
  • How many laps?

Adam - assume you are headed for the Worlds Darts at Ally Pally? It is a great night out and when you are there you'll realise how mentally tough the players are. I have the pleasure of knowing an ex- finalist who lost to Phil the Power in 2005. This is a long way from throwing darts in the local pub.

It is a bit of a circus but at least its honest stuff. Unfortunately I don't get that same feeling when I watch any professional cycling event these days.

Guarantee you'll have fun on your Xmas do!
  • Im in.

Don't want to derail the thread but this is worth a look, almost half the list rugby players and a recent darts player but not much interest in talking about it unless its cycling.

    current violations.
  • Jeremy - I know mate. I've never been but I genuinely can't wait. We always end up watching it over the new year period and it looks like a quality afternoon out. And you're right, they definitely are unbelievably mentally strong. Probably not the same fitness as the sports I normally watch though!

We will see you in the cock and also join for curry. It will set us up nicely for the sat club ride!
  • Hiya

I'm booking the curry house for next Fri 18th tomorrow. So let me know if you fancy it and not already let me know. Any undecided people out there: I'm sure we can add a few more on the table on the evening.

See you in London between 1pm and 6pm. Or in Baldock from 7pm. Or both.

Call or text to find our whereabouts. We should strava the day really, eh?

Conversation topics will include a definite trip to Flanders in 2016.

Right then. Bring forth the first black pudding scotch egg!
