OK, possibly some warm drizzle coming in from the west tomorrow........

So lets head south(ish) and do a variation of the Stevenage circumnavigation:

Ashwell-Walkern-Knebworth-Codicote-Whitwell-Willian-Baldock-Ashwell

Must remember my waterproof this week too, as last week's garment was as waterproof as a damp sponge !

  • Hey,

This is going to be my first club ride. lets hope the drizzle holds off :)
  • Nine of us out today for the lumpy Stevenage circumnavigation. Got off to a slow start with a mechanical just outside Ashwell but soon got going again with Emma and Nathan's lung busting pace up the slip end road. Then it was onto Walkren and a small deviation to Bennigton and back by the new to Sat and quite excellent high elms lane.

Back on track it was then a slog into the wind, before the route turned north & we picked up an awesome tailwind all the way back from Whitwell to Ashwell.

    So a shade under 40 miles @ a shade under 16.

Great effort by Luke on his first club ride. Tough ride to choose for your first one. Also discovered that Emma had discovered some rocket fuel breakfast - Waitrose fig and cranberry hot X buns, laced with peanut butter and banana. Forget your beetroot shots this is clearly the stuff you need judging by her epic turns into the headwind today !!

Thanks all for a great morning. More of the same next week.
  • It's not that simple - you gotta get the ratios of peanut butter, banana and bun just right. If not you might just crash and burn :-)
  • Thanks all, that was a great ride. Emma, keep testing those ratios, that was an amazing tow into the headwind!
