Can't do Beds Reliability Ride on Sunday now.
    Out Saturday instead.
Assuming others in same boat how about we do the 71mile Beds Reliability Route?

    Happy to with flow.

Ps - anybody noticed Gazprom racing in CCA colours????
  • I'm out, and happy to go with flow. Headwind out, and helping home is always appreciated.
  • Looking at the wind direction, then I believe Option 1 (Tring) serves the 13mph South Westerly assistance best.
  • Agree Pete.
Phil - can you decide on route.
If coming via Langford let me know - will meet the ride there.
    See you tomorrow.
    JP
  • I'm a bit short on time, so Grafham best for me (and we might get back before the worst of the rain) ... or I could stretch to Harrold Odell or Emily's.

Over to you, Phil. Decision time

  • ....HARROLD.....

    ...via Langford

    Sounds good see you tomorrow
    JP
  • Apols not to join you all, still feeling grotty - wouldn't have kept up.
  • Home safe (and dry) 56 miles av 17.1mph

Hope the rest of the group enjoyed the tailwind as much as I did

    Thanks Phil - enjoyed that.
Good steady pace although my legs took a while to get going after the cafe stop.
I ended up with 73miles at over 18s.
Looking forward to an afternoon of FA cup football and a snooze.

Pete - not your day. Hope no damage done. Recommend a trip to see Donna once the bruises heel.
    JP
  • Sounds like there was a tumble... you ok Pete?
  • Bruised Ego Robbie,
A little but of damage to Gabba Top and Bib Tights, and overshoes.
The bike looks OK in the main, although rear mech probably needs adjustment.

Made the wrong decision on bikes today. Need to get the crap mavic tyres off the Kyresiums that they came with.
Was still a little greasy out there and the 25's on the winter bike would have perhaps kept me upright.

That said, I was too close behind Phil, and left myself no reactionary gap when he rightly slowed down for a bend.
That and touching the front brake.

I guess this novice has learnt an important lesson, if not a somewhat painful one.
  • Thanks for the route Phil and the pull out and back.
Apologies for holding people up with two punctures and a stupid example of how not to slow down approaching a bend.
Advice noted regarding the Mavic tyres.
