RTTC Classic series race 4 Cumbria
Just spent the last 2 days up in the Lake district for the 4th round of the RTTC TT series which Jackie is competing in.
Disaster on the Friday evening when we had to move hotels at the last minute meaning we did not get to bed till after 12. (More on that later depending on the outcome of the complaint)
Saturday morning brought sunshine and a lovely ride around the new course at Greystoke (the original had road works on it) We could have been in the Alps - beautiful green meadows surrounded by snow covered mountains and sunshine.
Race day we woke up to driving wind and rain and the prospects not looking good. A local triathlon had already been cancelled based on the forecast.
Jackie's start time was close to 10o/c and as the morning went on the rain stopped and the wind started to dry the roads. So although it was still chilly it was much improved.
Jackie had another good ride on a the very undulating course finishing the 14 miles in 39.15 comfortably winning the Vet womens race and coming 4th overall women (her best place yet).
The RTTC series is the best 4 out of 6 races and this her 4th straight win has got her the title for the second year which she is obviously very pleased with. She is still keen to ride the remaining races in the hope of improving her place in the overall womens race and the vets on target time.
