We're homeward bound,
Oh joyful sound!
Goodbye, fare-ye-well,
Goodbye, fare-ye-well.
Come rally the capstan,
And run quick around.
Hurrah, my boys, we're homeward bound
Tonight I'll sing my songs again,
I'll play the game and pretend.
But all my words come back to me
in shades of mediocrity
Like emptiness in harmony
I need someone to comfort me.
Homeward bound,
I wish I was homeward bound,
Home where my thought's escaping,
Home where my music's playing,
Home where my love lies waiting silently for me.
I must defend the pirate side of the ashwellcc. I don't often ride with them, but there a good group of old sea dogs. It's good to have a few guys that resemble characters from One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest in the club....!
16 years sailing from home port of Ashwell. Loads of landlubbers come and gone in that time. I remember helping to build the original ship.
Still like my old sextant and the stars myself. Understand there is new stuff to replace it looking at a screen. I believe PC world Stevenage is the place for that. I will stick to the old ways of humour and generosity of spirit. An Ashwell thing really.
Out for a solo ride today. Ashwell, Sundon, Abbotsley, Yelling, Gransdens, Wendy, Steeple, Ashwell. 41 miles @ 16mph. Nice flat route, but pretty stiff WNW breeze. On the front the whole ride and won the sprint easily.
No need for the sextant today, just went with the flow.
How about St Ives this Friday? 60 miles flat route. Sunshine guaranteed. Up the shirkers.

Porthos will still be in Devon until Friday afternoon.
Aiming on going out everyday from Saturday 6th to Sunday 14th, including a couple of GD100's or similar, if any of you part time pirates are around.

Yes, they'll all come to meet me, arms reaching, smiling sweetly.
It's good to touch the green and black shirts of home.

60 miles at 16.8mph
All welcome

Here's Johnny, just back from an 8 hour journey back from Devon. Looking to stretch my legs for a few easy miles tomorrow if anyone's around.
