ECCA Marshalling duties 2017.

edited October 2016 in Time Trial
Hi there testers. Below is a letter outlining our marshalling commitment to the ECCA for 2017. We have to supply 5 marshals for the events listed. As laid out in the letter if we put in for our 5 duties ASAP we might get them. If no one volunteers we will get allocated whatever is left, if we dont supply 5 duties we get removed from the ECCA.

Please let me know which events you would like to volunteer for and ill forward the form on.

Cheers.......

2017 SEASON : E.C.C.A. EVENTS MARSHALLING DUTIES REQUEST FORM

Number of Marshals to be supplied:

TOTAL REQUIRED DUTIES 5
Suggested E2 Duties 3
Suggested Non E2 Duties 2

Please indicate on the enclosed form your preferred events and how many on each event, this will be used as a guide when preparing the schedule, also indicate those events that due to other commitments you WOULD NOT, in any circumstances, be able to provide marshals.

For those with one or two duties please indicate at least two 2nd choices, would others please indicate about a third of their total as 2nd choices in addition to the required number as 1st choices.

Marshaling for the ECCA 12 Hour TT is arranged separately. Dave Nock is the Organiser and he will contact clubs at a later date for their assistance in this event.

Duties will be allocated based, as far as possible, on your response to this Request Letter. However, we cannot guarantee that all of your preferences will be met. In an ideal world the requests received from Clubs would exactly match the required duties. However, this is never going to happen so I have had to make some arbitrary allocations and these are based upon the following criteria:

• Can you please reply if there are dates that you cannot cover so that I know not to allocate that date to your club.
• The earlier that you reply to this request letter then the higher proportion of your preferences are likely to be met.
• If you do not reply by the end of Dec 2016 then I will assume that you have no particular preferences.
• The Club of the Event Secretary will, if they request it, be allocated 50% of the duties for that event.
• Unless your club is organising the event the maximum number of duties per club for an event is 2.
• The popular demand from riders is for events on the E2 courses. Whilst most of the Clubs from the northern part of our area volunteer for these duties there is normally still a significant shortfall. The suggested figure above for E2 and non E2 courses is calculated based on the number of times your club members entered E2 events this year against the total number of entries.

Please return as soon as possible, either by post or e-mail. Any replies sent after the 31st Dec 2016 will not be used.

  • Will check my diary at the beginning of the year and see which events I can get out to to do a bit of flag waving. Happy to give back a bit, the ECCA put on great time trials with really, really good bread pudding afterwards. Totally worth it.
  • Just a reminder...we have until the end of Dec at the latest to put marshals names against specific events. If we dont we will be allocated whatever is left.
  • Sorry Tim been out of action for a while with the baby.

    Put me down for the - 25/Jun/2017 Sunday 08:00 E34/10 and - 23/Jul/2017 Sunday 08:00 E34/10
  • Hi Justin, hope all is going well with the baby and many thanks for your offer of help.

Ill report back in the New Year with our allocations.
  • Tim, I have emailed Nugget and volunteered for the E2/100 as pusher off (as per last year)
  • Hi Everyone, these are the allocations that we have been given. 1 duty for each.
If we could get names against each event that would be great especially the May one which is fast approaching. Details of where to be etc from here....ECCAmarshaling@gmail.com

    Sunday 28th May – E2-25 6am start
    Sunday 25th June – E34-10 8am start
    Saturday 19th August – E2-10 2pm start
    Sunday 10th September – E9-25 8am start
    Saturday 16th September – E2-10 2pm start
  • Put me down for the Sunday 25th June on the E34-10. Probably the furthest away, but happy to 'get away' for the morning!
  • Either Dave or I will do the 28th May E2/25.
  • Myself or David will do 19th Aug E2-10
  • Hi Tim, stick me down for the 16th September
  • Thanks everyone thats really great. Jenny and Dave can you contact Chris Dyason to arrange details for the 28th....cdyason@hotmail.com. Smashing.
  • Hi Matt, I had an email from the organiser of the E34 to say no details yet of marshalling requirements but he's working on it. I'll let you know when I have more info.
  • OK, thanks Tim
  • Tim, sorry to be a massive pain but I can no longer make the 16th, will make it up on next years marshaling allocation!
  • A message from David Nock in reference to the ECCA 10. 16 /9/17. If someone could volunteer and email him that would be great... davidnock123@gmail.com
    Thanks.

"Could you please supply 1marshall to carry out a traffic count at the bridge over the A11 one mile from the start They will need to be in position by 3.55 pm Regards Dave"
  • I think this clashes with the CCA N&DCA race in Brogborough.
  • I have told Dave Nock I will do this. The last ECCA on E2 was cancelled due to lack of marshals. Sorry James but will get Mrs M to cook cake.
  • Tim, sorry to mess around again, but i can now Marshall the E2 if required, injury stops play sadly!
  • Thanks for that Michael. Sorry to hear about the injury Chris. It looks like the 16th is covered but just got this from Len Gordon re the 10th.... hope this works ?
    Hi

Your club has been allocated to provide 1 marshal for this TT.

Can you provide a marshal for the roundabout at Leaden Roding.

If they have a hi-vis top they can just go straight to the roundabout and then text me to let me know that they have arrived. My number is 07807 839204.

Only 30 riders. TT starts at 8am so can you get to the roundabout by 8am.

I have attached a copy of the start sheet.

Checked the road up to Great Dunmow yesterday evening and there are no issues so fingers crossed that nothing appears between now and Sunday.

    Thanks
    Leonard Gordon
