I currently use Fenwicks Stealth Road Bike Chain Lube which i think is a bit of an Ashwell CCA institution.
Is it still good stuff or has anyone got a better recommendation please

Your best bet is to get a good book on lubricants from the library.
Look in the Non Friction Section.
