Despite the drizzle there was a good crowd for the pre-ride coffee. Then the weather improved somewhat (we were a bit worried that David J had jinxed us). 9 on the intermediate ride and a few more on the main club ride. Left Tom H and his daughter at Gransden (they were doing a velodrome session in the afternoon.) Tom warned us about the headwind as we went up Fullers hill so Karen and John M took an easier pace. Alan and James left after Croydon, leaving me, Jodie and Matt. We picked the pace up a bit and made a little extension up to Ashwell station, looking forward to a tailwind sprint into Ashwell. Slightly misjudged this and we rode in together.
