I will suggest this route for Christmas Eve, Friday 9.30am from Ashwell Three Tuns. North, then swing west and south through St Neots. All inclusive pace, probably around 16-17mph average.

45 miles. There is a possible option for a quick 10-minute coffee stop at St Neots. But not if it's too cold and wet.
