0830 SAT 24th JUNE - CHANGE OF PLANS 0830 FROM 3 TUNS - SEE BELOW

edited June 2023 in Club runs
Putting this out early. Subject to favourable weather I am planning to ride a loop of the Thames Valley, which some of you have done previously.

The loop starts and finishes in from the Amersham Old Town Car park. The route is 153.5km and 2066m and crosses the Thames 4 times. The plan is to depart from the car park at 0900.

We normally have a lunch/cafe stop in Goring then may another coffee in Marlow.

Route below.

  • Hi Martin. This looks interesting. What sort of speed? What time approx eta Amersham on return? Thanks David
  • I'm going to upgrade my "maybe" to a "defo". I'll be glad just to have the day out in the sunshine, so any speed suits me. Although, I might be a little bit hungover...
  • Last time I rode this route it took me just under 6hrs.
  • Sorry, I am not going to be able to do this ride. Much as I would like to. David
  • Since there is only going to be 3 of us I propose a change of plan to avoid the hour or so drive to the start of the ride.

    Revised route attached.

Plan is therefore to leave the 3 Tuns at 0830.

Please feel free to join for as much or little as your schedule allows.

  • Sounds good Martin. See you tomorrow.
  • Hello chaps! Nice to see you out this morning, I was heading to do a bike fit so couldn’t pop on the back for a few mins. Should get myself out on one of your rides soon, could do with the miles these days! Hope you had a nice ride out in the sun. W
  • Good to see you out Will. It was a great ride, but hot and require several water stops and of course a beer at the Tuns.
