Hainault 95km 10th april

Hainault Roads Club 95km. A hard course for the pie eating fat bar stewards, like myself. A Long draggy hill making it very hard once a lap, I would go from front, to back of pack every time ahhhh!

Think Phil Adams punctured, or was shot by a farmer (very loud bang), the same fate may have taken Carmelo as well.

Jeremy deployed a cunning tactic and very steadily rode off the front of the pack and then promptly disappeared. He took 5th place. Well done a great result! Don’t think he will be in 3rd cats for long.

Good race no crashes and a great fun course.

  • Well done guys. I was down as 9th reserve! I phoned the organiser yesterday & he said he's only had 2 cancellations up to that point, so I decided not to both getting up early & sitting around, only to come home again. I went down to Herne Hill for their spring track meet. To say I was rubbish is a bit of an understatement.I think I'm still trying to get over the flu I had as my chest felt really tight the whole time. I sis at least manage to finsh the 20Km with the bunch at the end of the afternoon.
I don't think I would have lasted up that hill this year for more than a couple off laps. I enjoyed it last year & went well until my chain came off on the last lap at the bottom of the drag.
Well done Jeremy, that's probably the most draggy climb of the eastern region races. The other courses are more power sprinter hills.

Hopefully I'll be up to speed soon & get a entry place!!!
