Hope you all had a good ride last week. Here is my suggestion for tomorrow - I'm sure that you will all be delighted to see that for a change we are going down Everton hill !!
Twelve of us (I think) out for what turned into the Saturday 'blue train express' ride.
Pace started high on the flat through to Barrington, with an excellent tailwind to keep us ticking along at the low 20s (although we almost lost a few on the surprisingly rapidly closing level crossing at Shrepreth). Barrington hill was dispatched & we continued on to folwmere where the tailwind turned into a evil headwind. Over the 505 it became surprisingly lumpy up to Barkway and then down the other side to Ashwell via Therfield & Steeple.
Final stats for the ride were 38 miles at a Saturday run record of 16.7mph !!
Big thanks to James & Tom for their sterling work out of Fowlemere & Dave for his pacemaking at the end.

I am looking forward to the ride and just wanted to get all my apologies in beforehand!!
See you tomorrow morning.

PS Am very pleased the route goes down Everton hill, can't imagine riding up it - but it sounds like I need to find out!!
