    Billy and I only just missed Gold last year and that was down to a wrong turn. it's a fast course that lends itself to a small peloton.

    Really fancied this one but on checking diary remembered have tickets for england india at lords that day so will have to skip in favour of the sound of leather on willow etc

    if i can get a pass... defo, its a great route and as Peter said we were on for Gold save a 6/8 mile 'diversion'!

    that last climb.... ouch!

    oh and its very well organised, our diversion was a stupid mistake not the organisers fault at all!

    To reiterate, this is a great ride. I have done it a couple of times.

    unfortunately I've also been off the bike (except last 'painful' Sunday) for ages.... so very much doubt I'll be going either :-(

    If by miracle the planets aline I will register on the day...

    now where is that syringe???
