  • Sorry to see you punctured James D! You looked like you had your race face on. A
  • Yep, all of those things robbie! Do you have the police cards and incident number Vincent? Or Doc Lewis? I'm home safe now and looking to get the paperwork started. I've already had a stream of lovely visitors who mostly brought beer! Anyone fini…
  • Home! Wendy making me a steak!
  • Good news! They are thrilled and amazed with how quickly I've bounced back. They're sending me home as soon as they can get my pain killers sorted out. Phew! Thanks again for all your help and support everyone. We're all a bit lucky having this clu…
  • Everyone was amazing. Thanks to all of you and all the well wishes I've got on here and on text. It really helps! They brought my helmet to the doctors so they could assess level of impact I think. I can tell you it saved my life without a doubt. G…
  • You did exactly the right thing Dave, I heard people being waved off and you're right. The right people were already there. Special thanks to Doc Lewis! Thanks Geoff, they're already amazed at my progress and pain tolerance. They love working on ath…

  • Cheers Mark
  • Vincent, if you still have bike feel free drop it off at Richard 's place to see what can be saved.
  • Thanks Tim and all. Bones will heal and my legs came out okay. They can't plate the collar bone due to proximity of broken ribs and chest cavity vent. So will have to heal the old fashioned way. Wish my bike could do the same!
  • And thanks to everyone for all your well wishes. Season over before its began but could have been so much worse.
  • I can't thank all of you enough for looking after me. Thank you guys! I'm up and moving around. They had to insert a chest drain. Collar bone in three pieces. Hopefully moving out of critical care shortly.
  • Will be away in France that weekend, sorry James! I'll better plan my life around TT'ing next year!
  • Hi NIck, please let the record show that I sent in my apologies on Saturday. Unfortunately, your email bounced back so I emailed Graham Laming and he did reply Saturday evening thanking me for letting him know. Sounds like everyone had a good time an…
  • No need to complicate things NIck. Just leave one time blank and leave everyone on the same time. Solved. Unless there's more to it than John? We appreciate your efforts in any case, and look forward to riding the event. Thanks fella! Andy
  • Jerseys are easy, skinsuits are harder to come by for Chrono types.
  • Either way, pint before heading home MC? ;-)
  • Now ... if you have a close look at the UCI Amateur World Champs (link from the TOC website), you will notice that you are REQUIRED to ride on your national team colours. Ladies and gents, you better get cracking to source said colours ... Or ask B…
  • Cool. I'm riding over as a warm up and home as a warm down I think.
  • Excellent. If I don't show up at the finish line within a couple hours, can someone try the pubs? I'll need a lift home ...
  • All right, bowing to social pressure, I've booked. 50/50 chance I will successfully navigate the course, but it should be a laugh in any case! Is it okay to assume there is a pub somewhere along the course?
  • Hmm . A 30 sounds like a fun challenge but the course sounds like a nightmare to be honest. Given my penchant for getting lost on the way to the corner shop I might have to give this one a miss in favour of a nice out and back that doesn't test my l…
  • The ramp idea is a good one. I'm pretty sure we could bang one together with ... you know ... I'm thinking some breeze blocks and a plank of wood? Add an element of skill to the start: stay on the plank. a 2x6" would be challenging, but in deference…
  • Congrats to Justin and everyone racing over the weekend. Well done! Yes, headwind definitely increased the lactic acid levels on the way out. Didn't get to experience the tailwind due to a front end puncture at 4.5 miles in. Thankfully didn't fall …
  • Welcome! Wednesday morning clubs runs may not be the ideal first group ride out TBH. You might be surprised at both the length and intensity while also trying to learn to ride with a group for the first time. There is a shorter 'instructional' ride…
