Bad luck Joseph - hope he's back in action again very soon.

Tim D has a slightly earlier model and is very pleased with it - see http://www.ccaforum.co.uk/comments.php?DiscussionID=3365&Focus=23650 If you're not already a British Cycling member it's worth joining as you'll then get a further 10% off, in …

Well said. Mark F

Tim, as the region's top club CC Ashwell has its own private results service of course (for U8/10 and U12 anyway)... Both events were exciting. The course still wasn't properly set up when the U10 race started using it so the entire field rode…

Tim - I'm sure you remember that in the "old days" a club hill climb was often combined with a downhill freewheeling competition afterwards, with cranks strapped to the chainstay to stop any cheating. It allowed proper-sized riders to get their own …

Nothing can prepare you for the horrors of the men's toilets at the top of the stand at Welwyn. The lights usually aren't working though so at least you can't see the full extent of the squalor.

N.B. The cyclocross results have been added to the Mildenhall Rally results page. Lots of good CCA performances again, including one from "Jen Chapman"

Mark Zaschke at City Cycle Centre in Ely is an excellent wheel builder. He has built tandem wheels, track wheels and road wheels for me in the past, and all have been faultless. Mark F

It's important to understand that the purchase of a bicycle is an investment, not an expense. Therefore, the more you buy, the more you are in fact investing. Think of it like a private pension.
-
Go on Gareth, write a quick report of what you thought of Mildenhall Rally and the grass track racing there. It might encourage others to take the plunge at the CCA event on 14th Sept.
-
Matt, N.B. A couple of our riders aren't shown as CCA members on the Mildenhall Rally site's results page. They are:- Youth D Under 10 15. Jensen Martin - CC Ashwell Youth B Under 14 30. Richard Chennels - CC Ashwell Thanks for taking care of the…

That's excellent - very well done to all three of you. I saw how well the VC St Raphael and Stourbridge CC riders were going earlier in the afternoon, so you must have been really shifting in the team pursuit.
-
That was probably Shelton - one of the best (and loudest) shouter-oners in the business. His daughter Harley once again made sure CC Ashwell colours were seen on the podium in the Under 12 girls race. Second claim CCA member Anna competed in the morn…

N.B. This is still available. Any takers? Mark F

Tim, we might accept the Volvo plus cash in exchange for it. It seems to have developed a fault though over the last few years - it used to travel at 28-30 mph but now it can only go a lot slower than that... Mark F

Do you mean that the new ring physically doesn't fit onto the crank's spider? There are very many different sizes of ring and they only fit cranks with matching dimensions. Are you certain the new one is correct for Sophie's bike's particular crank? …

Sorry to hear that Chris - your contribution to promoting the club's youth activity through the local press has been terrific. Have fun in the badlands of London East district. Mark F

Hi Chris, I often write brief report of events like this but just don't have time to do it at the moment. I had to leave two-thirds of the way through the programme anyway. If no-one else comes forward I'll try to write something ready for next wee…

Hello Alison, If they are bib-shorts I'll gladly take them please. Mark F

Chris, let me know if you'd like the race report from the weekend's youth racing at Hog Hill amended so it can be submitted to the local papers: http://www.ccaforum.co.uk/comments.php?DiscussionID=3120&page=1#Item_2 I love time trialling but it'…

Three CC Ashwell youth members raced at Hog Hill on Saturday in Lee Valley Youth CC's third summer series event. Conditions were absolutely scorching. Adam and Helena competed in the large, competitive Under 12 race. Youth racing is so strong nowad…

Bumping this back up to the top. I think Max will be at tomorrow evening's coaching session so that's an ideal opportunity to give him your entry form - last chance probably, otherwise it's enter-on-the-line at greater cost. Any questions - just as…
-
Gareth - all youth entries incl U14 (Youth are:- Postal: £8.00 On Day: £12.00 i.e. see https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/83636/Biggleswade-Sports-Grass-Track-Meeting#entry Mark F
-
Too right Geoff - it was a great event last year. Certainly on Thursday evenings we'll urge kids & parents to enter. Mark F
-
Yes - Stuart, Jackie, Noah and Anna have entered. Enter soon if you want to do it - the course has a lower limit on rider numbers than most MSG events so there aren't many places in the 10:00 a.m. races left. It's a rare opportunity to race at the O…

A message from the organiser Pete today to encourage CC Ashwell women to enter Sunday's event:- Women can enter-on-the-line at the reduced rate of £15 instead of £20. At last year's event there were only a couple of women riders, so they both wen…

National level junior racing... I'll bet that was a hard race. Well done Theo & Cameron for being competitive as first year Juniors. Mark F
-
I confirm that entry on the line is available: £10 for youth riders, £20 for seniors.
-
Online entry in advance closed today, but if you contact Pete the organiser (see details above) I'm sure he will still add you to the event programme. Failing that, I expect entry on the line is possible, but do check before travelling. Mark F
