Really good to see you 4. It's been too long You lot looked v strong indeed and the bit of your ride that I saw was probably the bit where you eased up for me! Anyway, I ended up with just under 16 @ just under 16mph, which was spectacularly good in…

Sorry James, I won't be joining you today. (I'm only allowed 1hr on the bike, so will go out later when it's warmed up a bit) Sun is out and it's going to be a gorgeous day. Have fun

Possibly a lost girl too After 4 weeks rest, physio has given me the green light for a GENTLE return to the bike. There are new rules attached to this permission, so I have to be good I've really missed riding with the club - heaven knows why, cos …

Great write-up, Luke. Thanks The palm tree that's sticking out of your head's a bit smaller than his. MAybe it'll grow

Sounds fab, David. I'd love to However, I'm still injured. Been off the bike for 3wks now and this February feels even gloomier than Februarys usually do. Beginning to wonder if I'll ever manage anything more than a gentle club ride ever again ...

Nice one Adam! Great to see all that hard work paying off

If anyone's interested, this piece describes the classification of carbohydrates that's more widely accepted amongst the scientific community. These are the standard definitions of complex versus simple carbohydrates (- not to be confused with the di…

wow. Reminds me of skiing ... though this bloke reminds me mostly of the speed-idiots that rocket down crowded slopes at the end of the day didn't once hear him say 'on your inside'. Just a few surprised riders shouting after he'd passed them

I've got a place And I'm really glad to see lots of CCA members going for team entries. C'mon CCA!
-
Word on the street is that yes, there will be team entries for club riders via Br Cycling this year

Awesome. With team managers like you two, how could they be anything but brilliant. Go CCA!

... you're going to say No (to the +1year question) In which case, I look forward to getting my precious bike out of mothballs when we've all moved on to riding 11-speed, disc-braked machines and somebody has dreamt up an Eroica Britannia v2 L'Eroi…

Love the idea of this Purchasable Exhibition of Treasures. Fantastic They say pre-1987 bikes only and I'm wondering if that goes up 1 year every year, in which case ... I'm trying to do the maths to work out how long it'll be before my bike qualifi…

Enjoyed the sunshine today. Bit of ice in Reed though and one bike went down, but no serious injuries thankfully. Hope those bruises heal quickly Pretty mucky in the lanes, which led to a bit of discussion about clip-on mudguards (that don't work if…

Might be a bit too fresh for me. I'll do the stick-my-head-out-the-door test in the morning Rain tonight then freezing temperatures q possible ... take care

I spoke too soon

That's tough, Strappy. Hope you heal fast and that the bike can be saved Thanking my lucky stars that Tim's group stuck to gritted roads. Garmin says temperature dropped below freezing for about half of my ride. It was great to see the sunshine - j…

Could start a bit later? Garmin said temperature during David's 10am ride today ranged from 0 to 1.5 degrees, but we kept to gritted roads and the surface was fine It was pretty dry though ... possibly won't be as lucky tomorrow?
-
That was good! What looked like being a bit of a dicey morning for bikes turned out to be a good ride (and just the workout I needed) Thanks all

snow finished in Steeple and not settled should be ok for B roads
-
light snow in Steeple
-
Doesn't look too bad at the mo, but the worst weather is due to come through around 9-10 ie it's likely to deteriorate B roads definitely a wise choice (Not sure about this ... think I'll wait until later on, or ride tomorrow instead)
-
good thinking Robbie. Fingers crossed
-
Good point. North/south would be possible though Rutland Water/Stamford?
