Just had a 30 min queue to get to a human being via the helpline, but in the end, she was a whole lot more helpful than any of last year's lot were Because is might save somebody else losing 1/2 hour of his/her life to call centre music, here's what…

Apparently there's a hurricane heading this way. ETA Sunday. Hurricane Boris?

Suggest we amend the wording on the website, because 'Pop along, try us out, see for yourself' suggests that newcomers don't need to pre-arrange a Thurs eve grass track session!
-
Thanks John Sam - have a look on the website for the Thurs grass track session. You can just turn up and give it a try. Better still, have a word with one of the coaches there and they'll be able to tell you all about what's on offer to under-18s at…

That was great! Thx Phil for the route ... and Vince for the green T ... and Pete for generally harassing everyone and making me laugh. This will be remembered as the 'just 1 more Pipers Hill' ride. Not sure if it was Pipers Hill 1 or the 2nd Piper…

Hey Martin, as I start drifting backwards through the 06:12 super-peloton I very much look forward to finding a friendly face in blue, hopefully yours

Ah I see - a club run with KOM points that don't happen on club runs ... and everyone rides together up a hill and then waits at the top for the imaginary riders who didn't stick together? I'm confused. How can anyone point his/her bike at a hill a…

Mini-train of 3 set off for Grafham ... until Cople, at which point Tom departed to see the family We did a minor (unintended) detour north of the reservoir and I had my 1st taste of cycling the A1M in heavy traffic. Can't say it was fun but it did…

Sounds like Grafham might be a better option this week (62miles)

It was all going swimmingly until the approach to Hexton, when something sticking out o fthe hedge cut my left arm ... v soon after, a pushy driver coming towards us forced me into potholes and I punctured. (Yes, it was raining at this point) ... …

Just bringing this back to the top - couple of people interested and wanting to put the date in diaries
-
Hey, Pete could ride a bike with an umbrella, no probs It's going to be v warm indeed. Could be the 1st ride I've ever done where I actually want to get rained on
-
Great idea, Robbie. (Will do my v best to keep up)
-
I'm entered too. (Also 5 - 5:30 expected ride time) Bring it ON
-
V humid out there and we might still get a bit wet ... not enough to invoke Rule 9, but I'd like to draw everyone's attention to Rule 5
-
Tough luck, Vicky. Hope you mend quickly

A star in the making!

Having spoken to Martin, who rode the event last year, I'm seriously considering this one now. Anybody else fancy it? Serious amounts of climbing to be had ... in a mountainous part of UK ... that I haven't yet cycled. What's not to like?
