Awesome!
-
Schedule of races is here
-
That'd be great, Will I'm looking to buy a long sleeve jersey/jacket and it'd really help to see TMG Pro kit that's already in use within the club - and hear how you've got on with it, as well as guess the size
-
D'oh, can't make this now. Sorry chaps and chapesses. Have a good one
-
Wow, coffee at Rhubarb & Mustard! That sounds v civilised indeed. Nice find, John
-
So Robbie and Jane started the day searching for Martin's (shall we say, under-) garments around the spring in Ashwell ... and then drove on to meet the rest of the team at Old Amersham, only to hear tales of strange goings on in the car park Thankf…
-
Just bringing this back to the top. All welcome Come tackle a few hills and you'll also get to enjoy 2 caf
-
Good that, (although there now seems to be 2 lumps of wood where my legs used to be) Thx for the tow ... and the encouragement. I promise to get stronger
-
Forecast is for NE wind, so the Blue Egg's not a bad idea at all Hoping to join you. (Also hoping I can keep up. Pls be gentle on me)
-
Geoff - I'd like to join this (June) group for the Fri and Sat. Not Sunday though as I'd like to be here to support the Letchworth Grand Prix It sounds like your caravan might be full with Paris-Nice riders, so can you suggest a local B&B / YHA …

For the BANK HOLIDAY Chilterns trip, see other thread 'Marlow' c/o Martin
-
Sounds great Martin. I should be there It'll be really nice to see a CCA group in the Chilterns again. Fingers are crossed for shorts weather
-
more gurning?
-
I left some good feedback for the team at Dave Rayner Fund and had a nice email back, apparently 'it was a particularly difficult day and we had to recover a lot of riders' Etape du Dales is a tough ride in good conditions and we endured hellish win…
-
I'll always remember this ride for the momentous climb up Tan Hill (250m in 12km on v exposed moorland) in a gusting headwind of 20-40mph Last year I rode that in 37mins (albeit with a healthy back and having trained well), but this year it took me …
-
Sounds like a cracker for the club repertoire, David Does it include a caf
-
Forecast has improved slightly - roads might stay dry. Expected to be v windy though with gusts up to 40mph From memory, Tan Hill is v exposed and with a 20mph headwind that could be v tough indeed. But hey, nobody said the Etape would be easy
-
I second John's request: marking results with 'roadbike' would help to give a bit more recognition to those who don't have all the kit
-
Can't do next week, but hoping to join you on 26th (half term)
-
Spot on, Will. Those are exactly the things that make it hard for me to a) hang on and b) give my best to the group It's what we all do instinctively and at the time our brains say, I'm putting in more effort which must be good for the team It's not…
-
Memorable bits for me (apart from meeting Jenny's M&D and the splendid spread they put on for us): # The only downpour was immaculately timed with our stop at Ely Cathedral (and a perfectly placed church porch) # Regrouping to ride the last …
-
Mark - I'm due to ride Etape du Dales that day, but might have to pull out. If so, I'd be happy to help
-
Breaking news: Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo is now a UCI World Cycling Tour qualifying event. This is the first ever UWCT gran fondo to take place in the UK and for the first time allows riders the chance to qualify for the Amateur World Champ…
-
The wind's expected to pick up overnight and it could be a bit gusty tomorrow, but the good news is that it's coming from SW - which means we'll have a tailwind most of the way (except on the post-fish-and-chips section which might be a bit sluggish)…
-
Goodness, I didn't realise Nick had no tonterias
-
Then Pete22 should definitely come too ... we need somebody to sit behind me for most of the way and then not quite win the sprint
-
Can we eat earlier, say 7pm? (That'd make a 5am start on Sunday a whole lot easier) Daniel - I don't think John can join us, but hoping to see Tania, Martin, Pete, Robbie as well as Jeremy and Geoff
-
I'm in. The atmosphere was brilliant last year in Baldock
-
Thanks John, that was just what I needed All ok here (- my back feels ok and my legs are tired, so those tweaks to the winter bike seem to have done the trick)
-
Nice one Tim! Call me an old romantic, but that makes me feel like CCA has finally been accepted into the heart of Ashwell
