Hi David,
That’s great! I’ll be working from home on Wednesday and apart from a call at 10.00 am for half an hour I’m free all morning if you want to pop round? We’re at 14 Kits Lane - the main road through Wallington - and if you’re coming up from Baldock, we’re on the left about 150 yards past the 30 mph sign. There’s plenty of off street parking. My silver Volvo estate is on the drive as a sighter. What three words = Slip.practical.became. My mobile is 07790988985.
The TT case is in the cupboard in the Village hall. I handed my key-on-a-string back to Martin Lawless. Do you know where he lives close to the VH?
Let me know what works best for you.
Cheers,
Andy

OK, so here is the surface at the Toll Bar turn, some loose stuff as you'll see. I'll take my broom tomorrow and do my best Trigger impression, but please do all take care on this corner - I know you will and do, but...

Thanks Mr. Ayers!

Thanks Graham, Yes agree we should have a chat tomorrow to look at numbers and how to coordinate. See you tomorrow.

I drove the course this morning and stopped 4 times along the way to check what I was seeing. What I was looking for was piles of loose stuff between the tram lines, i.e. the racing and overtaking lines and I saw nothing significant. There is a *li…

Thanks Toma, Yes please!

UPDATE: As you may know, about 1.5 miles of the 25 mile course from the Wimpole roundabout, past the Toll Bar and on to about the Stables was top dressed last week. I've liaised with @JMac over the weekend and contacted Cambs Highways this morning. …

OK, This is a difficult call. They’ve chipped a small section of our course from the Wimpole roundabout to about 50 metres past the Toll Bar. As we have foot down there, as soon as you cross a bit of loose stuff the cars have already compacted the …

Oh! And thanks @rayers, much appreciated.

Will do, David. I should be at the Village Hall at 6.00 p.m. so will post up in case unexpected early chipping causes a cancellation.

I drove the course in reverse from Wrestlingworth this morning (Wednesday 3rd July) and saw signs in place along the route for the expected chipping/top dressing and a Cambridge Council van out putting them up. However, there was no heavy plant that…

Good luck on the Maratona Al!

Without my prompting, the Powerhouse that is Mr. Stuart - who is having an excellent Inter Club series thus far - has already signed up through the Beds Road "Book-a Ride" system. Keen, and I like that! :-) Many thanks for that, sir. Any other takers…

Mark, Dan, Just to confirm I'll be there at 18:00.

I regret to say that Mr. Askew reports that the traffic lights are still in place so unfortunately we have to cancel tonight's TT. Desperately disappointing. But we thought positively and gave it a shot. I'll need to check out the course next week …

OK, Bertie’s in, we have a helper and 4 riders minimum. If Mr. Askew reports that there are no traffic lights when he passes on his way back from work, we’re on. Prepare your kit as if we’re on and we’ll let you know ASAP tomorrow afternoon. …

Three. Need one more! Send for Bertie!

OK. Mr. Askew has kindly checked out the roadworks for us today (Tuesday) and there are still traffic lights, but there may not be more for the works to do. The website is still showing the works finishing tomorrow. So Mr. Askew has kindly agreed to…

He’ll be fine! 😊 Thanks. That’s one piece of our jigsaw in place. Could do with one more helper if possible? Thanks.

So our team is assembled and what a fantastic blend of talent, form and experience is represented here. Wish them all luck: a 30 mile test on an undulating course is a challenge in itself, but here spiced with the competition of going up against the…
