This is the other sort of bike tub. I've heard it said that some people remove the bicycle from the tub, fill it with warm water and get into it themselves. What ever next?
-
Indeed really great performances from our riders. This event has even made it to the Guardian web site> LINK I was stuck in't pits all the time so didn't see that puddle Nick Craig is going through! Daniel

Theo just left the house at 08:30 on his CX bike....

The Dutch Method is indeed similar to the Begian Method but with a greater emphasis on adapting the rim profile to match the tyre by using narrower section tape, see LINK.

Why Tufo are different: A tubular tyre (aka tub) is made from a casing and an inner tube. The tread is bonded onto the casing and the inner tube is sewn into this. The whole assembly is then stuck onto the rim using glue which, in order to create …

John, Have you considered using tubs? Daniel

Congratulations. Glue - Vittoria Mastik 1. Do what is says on the tin, although letting the glue dry on the tub for longer than advised will not harm and it will be easier to handle. If you want to mask the braking surface electrician's tape is th…

This, my friend, conatins actual measurements of tyre performance. Srong stuff. Conti GP4000s are not tested as far as I can see, but the Vittorias come out smelling of roses. LINK Fact versus opinion. Daniel

Club runs could be very different. We could also include a pack of dogs... Adam, if you are confused by this thread it might not be the codene. Daniel

Robbie, Thanks very much for starting these rides - a great initiative. I look forward to the 2014 Festive Fifties! Daniel

Looking forward to a crisp and bright morning. Daniel

There are an excellent series of videos on this site CXHAIRS, called Svenness. I've put up a video on Youtube of the Broome Heath CX race featuring some CCA riders (and some from Lee Valley). It's called CCAness 1.0 and can be found here Daniel

Matt, Sorry I don't have any still shots. Daniel

My son took the Theo-line! This was up the left hand peat climb, I have this on video!

Broome Heath is one of my favourite courses. This year certain changes were made which, I am pleased to say, improved the course. It was also much harder. Instead of the sharp first climb there was a massive sand trap which was easy to get lost in…

That makes cycling on custard seem very viable.

Sorry to read this mate. Hope you recover soon. To cheer yourself up you need to read the Assos brochure about their new shorts. Aparently we shouldn't want a new pair we actually NEED 4 new pairs for different situations. One pair features a 'Ku…

Okay, so our beloved forum is not the most user friendly for sharing photos, however Flickr is just hostile. Thank you Mark for revealing the secret. It is as if we are not meant to share photos from Flickr! Daniel

Indeed this is a sweet photo. Nice one Stuart!

Beauty knows no pain.

John, It did happen and you can ask Jon, Bryn, Christine or Theo as they saw me cross the line. Furthermore Theo had to perform corrective surgery on Sunday, albeit minor, but nevertheless without aesthetic. Lindsey are you okay? Daniel
-
Hi Stuart, I'm sorry but I can't make the link above work. Daniel

Nice report John. I've not ridden cross in The Bowl but I've arrived at the rim of it and looked down at the sea of demarkation tape and silently mouthed 'Death of the thousand climbs'. Well done for coping with all that off camberness. Nice consi…

In some ways Grafham was a disaster for me as some chump locked his handle bars with mine and pulled me down on a straight, wide part of the course. I lost about a dozen places and my left-hand shifter on the first lap. Now keen observers will note…

This was tremendous fun this year - a must for 2014. I'm IN too Daniel
-
Top spot Stef, thanks. Just entered the World's best sportive (apologies to Carmelo). Suggest you do likewise Jane, only 762 places left. (Enter via the British Cycling website). Daniel

It really is a brilliant course. Did anyone see rabbits? A blinder from Pell senior (again), well done buddy. Can anyone operate a video camera? I'm thinking a Sveness stylee film of Broomheath...
