A very modest report. Theo finished 27th out of 42 finishers from 85 starter. He finished just ahead of the Junior National Champion Chris Lawless and hill climb specialist Germain Burton. It was really hard work just standing by the roadside hand…

If a few CCA racers are away the weekend of the festival and miss the criterium this is a pity, but no more than that. Similarly if some others who would have helped are also away this is a problem, unless there are others who can take their place (…

I dont yet remember much about the trip. I expect it will come back to me and I will be able to make sense of it all. I got too hot on the first day, heat stroke if you will, so was not feeling too great from then on. However this didnt seem…

The choice of kit supplier is a big one. For one thing we all spend ages wearing it so it has got to be good quality. Delivery time has always been an issue and I suspect always will be. One way to deal with this is to carry a larger stock, but …

You have to understand that when Peter did the Etape du Dales a few years back there was a bit of a breeze and light drizzle. The experience seems to have become etched into his memory. Daniel

I certainly hope Peter does not play the trumpet as well. It is going to be loud enough as it is with one. Daniel

The only spare space in the car will be on Peter and Will's knees. So if you have a matchbox you can't fit in your kit bag on the train we might be able to carry it, otherwise I am afraid the car is full. My preference would be to get changed at th…

'The Dales', ITV1 on Monday June 24 (20:00) has a feature on last year's edition of the 3 Peaks Cyclocross race. Not sure how much could be realistically filmed as the weather was so bad, but could be worth a watch for a laugh! Daniel

The marketing machine has already started up and quality Yorkshire products are rolling off the production line to celebrate our arrival. The bottle below was bought for me a friend and is apparently the first one sold. Two questions sping to mind:…

Just got an e-mail advising I have a place! Who else got in? Daniel

I will try to be there too. I really need the mileage!

Hi Susan, Really pleased to hear about this event and wish you and your fellow women riders a great day. I came across this mapping site and was delighted to see that our grass track is marked. Might be useful to you for this event, LINK Thanks to…

Gilgamesh: do NOT click on this LINK Tim: When do you get your new track bike? Daniel

Good tips and interesting information here. There's so much I need to learn and improve though! I know a Dutchman who is convinced all steering on a bicycle must start with a small amount of counter steer. It is a strange phenominon and I expect w…

'Bring on 2013...' Am I missing something here? Daniel

I'm living in 2013. What year is it for you Stuart? Daniel (this universe)

Only Cyclocross specific bikes with drop handlebars are allowed in the 3 Peaks CX event. In most cyclocross events mountain bikes (and straight handlebars) are allowed. Daniel

Grass Track racing is a top laugh. Come and race. I am. Daniel
