You could always handicap it like a horse race and add weights to the lighter riders to bring them up to weight of the heavier ones. Mind you, you'll need a lot of weights to get Daniel Maynard up to the same weight as Dad!
I didn't thin… -
I needed that after a cycle-free holiday - I certainly felt the 1500m climbing in my legs, but that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
Great route, I enjoyed it on a wet day in June and even more with today's unbroken, hot sun.<… -
I'll be there, looking forwards to a day in the sun.

Low 20s and mostly sunny. Just like a pleasant UK June weather in April. Warm, but not too hot to enjoy hours in the saddle and nice enough to sit outside for cafe stops. Some mornings were a little chilly, and arm-warmers were needed for the first h…

Whilst I haven't beem there in November, I can fully recommend Puerto Pollenca in Mallorca as a cycling holiday destination. It has great rides, from flat to challenging mountains, organised rides and if you don't want the hassle of taking your own b…

I enjoyed today's spin, especially as my misbehaving drive-train magically repaired itself. Quite glad that the rest of you wimped out of Everton Hill as it meant I could use every swear word in my vocabulary to help me get up it at my own slow pace …

I'm fairly sure that the Olympic Park will close for about a year as every thing is rearranged, post Olympics. Basically, it will be more like a building site whilst all the work is done.
Afterr that, the Veodrome will be open for busine… -
Somehow, they have been posted under Saturday Club Runs!
Perhaps the Web Meister can shuffle it into the right place?

Thw weather forecast isn't too bad for tomorrow morning, more likely to be dry than wet.
I'll be there unless it really is tipping down.

Looks like I have a green light to get to Ashwell for 9 now, probably cycle over and drop off the ride on the way back and not miss too much of the Olympic Road Race.
See you at the 3Ts -
If I can make it, I was planning on cycling in reverse of you until I spot you, now I'm not sure which way around you are going?
Are you heading through Everton 1st (clockwise route) or through the Grandsden's (anticlockwise)? -
What time are you setting off?
Not sure if I'll be able to make an early start, but could join you on route if you stick to the standard route, as it goes near my home.

Yes, the pace was a bit faster on the flat route than is usual, but we made sure that nobody was in any difficulty and no one was left behind either. We had two, potentially new members out with the club for their first time on this ride and as the …

Off topic, but shouldn't we rename the grasstrack 'Marginal Gains' in honour of Team Sky?

Suprised to see the Captain dressed as a landlubber at the dock at 9-30 - he muttered somthing about not riding because he was celebrating his 70th - he doesn't look a day over 60 to me!
Nice ride Andy, 60 miles at 17.5 for me with the … -
The flat group headed off to Potton, Everton, St Neots, Gransdens, Hatley's - must have done some gentle climbing as we had fun rolling down Everton and Croydon hills. Sean and Mick split off just after the Gransden's towards Longstowe after setting …

It be set fair for Sunday, so we can leave the sou'westers and oilskins at home and the Captain shouldn't need a bilge pump for his wheels1
Hope to be there me hearties -
A nice route David, which goes close to my home in Gamlingay twice, giving me two opportunities to wimp out if it turns too wet! I'll be there unless the weather is really bad first thing. It's hard to tell what the weather will be like as the BBC …

Meet for 09-30 start. Follow Chris's directions, we don't meet at Springhead we meet outside Bob's ; 32 Hodwell. Numbers out depend heavily on the weather, we only had 4 out last week in the showers. If it's really bad, there might not be anyone. W…

Not wishing to stir things up too much Geoff, but some, but by no means all, of the 09-00 "Club Runs" I've been out on recently, have been quite fast affairs with myself managing to keep up, but others, including riders out for their first ride with…

A lumpy, 42 mile ride at 16.2 mph into Essex by the main bunch today; started dry and then turned very wet at times over the last 20 miles. The Saturday group have definitely been getting a tad faster recently. About 18 riders out too, which is amazi…

'Phaffing' ? Is that how you southerners spell faffing? = learn something everyday1

You'll be fine Matt, it will be a fairly steady pace with no one left behind.

I'm in second place after stage 1, you're back in 8th Mark It takes a long time for the CCA mini league to show the day's results, probably not until the morning. Juniormaynard's Ambition RT leads so far, but I'm in hot pursuit! Game on! Vic

Thanks to Mark and Daniel for oeganizing the ride and a really big THANK YOU to Christine for rescuing me. Vic

The weather isn't looking too bad for Sunday and I've found someone to taxi my son to and from football training, so I'm planning on doing this. Club run speed will be fine for me. See you Sunday Vic

Not long to go now boys and girls - brilliant - keep going and keep posting. Looking at Mark's 'snack' from a few days ago, I can't help wondering if he doesn't need one of these: Spam
