Joseph got third place at Hog Hill on Saturday. It was the first time he's got a podium place at Hog Hill as an under 10. The race was slow due to the midday heat which meant pretty much the whole bunch was together at the bottom of the hill on the l…

I'll probably need somewhere to lie down after but hopefully not permanently!

Link for the hill climb https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/97194/The-Rectory-Hill-Climb-(Chiltern-Cycling-Festival) It's Rectory Hill, looked at it's Strava segment and it averages 7% with some really steep sections. I'll be training …

Thanks for the report Gareth. Yes, Joseph was third overall.
-
Thanks Mark, I was looking for a local sportive that let kids enter. Joe and I have signed up for the short route 36 miles. David

Good report and fantastic result. Samuel has beaten some really strong riders there.
-
I can help, as with Jamie I'll have a young assistant so if there's anything suitable put me down for it.
-
Yes, Shelton, Joseph has a Scatto J Cross but in 700c. Paul was very nice and helpful Scott, I can only agree with what has already been said, especially about trying them out first and also checking out Youth Cycle Sport's reviews. I'd say that mos…

Finished work early and went for a lap this afternoon. Very dry now. I will probably still go out tomorrow barring torrential rain.
-
Couldn't agree more, we went to the afternoon session today. Joseph is very keen to start some track riding now, definitely inspire a generation stuff. The points race was an incredible spectacle, and so much easier to follow the action live.

Not out tonight John. Got my new frame yesterday so there's a whole evening of fettling ahead. Might join you for a maiden voyage on Sunday though.

Provisional results posted U8 Samuel Quiggin 1st U10 Joseph Hadsley 5th Mark Lightfoot 7th Nathan Hardy 10th U12 Adam Lightfoot 10th Harley Pell 15th (3rd Girl) Well done all.

Thanks for the report Jamie, once again I failed to get any photos. The boy who sprinted past Joseph was the same boy who was attacking constantly from his group last week so he said he didn't trust him to be on the front. As you said lessons to be l…

Yes, the races are in quick succession, so no chance for warm ups. We'll be there too. Dave
-
Can make it for ten past.
-
I'll be out John, see you at the Hitchin entrance. Dave

Good report Mark and great photos, I must remember to try and take some of the U10s next time. As Mark said the U10s field was large and very strong. There were kids from clubs all over the Eastern, Central and South East regions and even last years…

I don't think it's the tyres on my bike that's the issue, Jane, more likely the one round my middle.
-
Nope, nice clear run. Think it's best left for daylight and dry conditions.
-
Failed! 1h 4m 57s, 55m actual Greenway time. Will have to try it at altitude next.
-
Solo effort it is then, will try for the hour record, door to door. Give Spartacus something to aim at.
-
I'll be out tonight, see you around the usual place/time. Dave
-
Shelton, as far as I read it we need an under 10 in each team so Mark in one team and Joseph in another. If we could muster another U10 or I assume even an U8 then we could have three teams consisting of two U12s and one U10.
-
I'm going to have to give it a miss tonight too, been out in this rain all day and have a bit of a cold. I'll suffer the rule 5 taunts next week.
-
Mark Lightfoot and Joseph Hadsley had planned to enter as an U10 team. Joseph would still be available for any rethought combined teams if things stay as they are.
-
If you don't have to be a league member then Joseph is keen to do this. He did a couple of races but didn't affiliate.
-
Nice tyre choice John. I'll be out on Thursday, even if it snows! Shall I meet you at the Hitchin entrance at 7.30.
-
Likewise John, nice to meet you too. Congrats on your 3rd place, great result.
-
In the U10s category, in the final league standings Joseph Hadsley finished 3rd and Nathan Hardy finished 6th. Well done boys

It wasn't intentional John, I couldn't feel my feet by that point and though it best to press on.
