If I’d had one more puncture I would have been running tubeless. Sounds like I missed out on a good one! I rode out to the back side of the route around Elmdon to see if I could manage to bump into you all again, but missed you.
-
Sorry to hold you up with the punctures, decided that 3 in 2 hours was enough and headed home. Popped out on the road bike to make the miles up but it wasn’t as much fun! Hope you lot all had a good ride... W
-
Hi @mwyer, any chance you could email me a copy of the route please? Hoping to make this in the morning. W

There’s me thinking that you just had to ride it as hard as possible and go faster the next week if the weather allows...

It’s such a unique atmosphere you get at grass track. Looking forward to (watching and helping at) the next event already!
-
Bet you’ve never used that sentence before, Dan.

Never used tubeless and can’t say that I’m that tempted for road stuff. Winter clincher tyres and Butyl tubes for everyday riding whatever the weather, once you start puncturing regularly then get a new tyre, regularly switch your front and back …

Yes Stuart... email me some good snaps of CCA time trials if you have some! rr@ccashwell.com

I’ve ridden road races on chipped roads before, it shouldn’t affect whether we actually put the TT on or not, as long as the marshals and helpers are there it should be fine! That road is a steady drag up hill anyway, so it’s not like people wi…

I think my time was a PB too... technically as I’ve not ridden the course with the foot down rule in (the last time I rode it was 31st Aug, 2016...). Pretty sure that the time difference between now and then wasn’t anything to do with putting my …

It’d be great to have as many people as possible down to the AGM this year, it’s your club so let’s make it a bit more how you want it. If there’s something you think needs to change or some new stuff you’d like the club to consider or…

If people could email me any good pics they have of themselves or anybody else in Ashwell kit riding a TT (anything from an open or the club 10) I’m going to put together some sort of flyer to advertise this to splash all over social media etc …

Ha, well we’ll see how long the “comeback” lasts! It was great to see everybody and some new faces too. Always a great atmosphere at the club 10. Thanks to all the marshals, exceptional timekeepers (especially the loud and clear countdown) and…

A few emailed quotes from some of the nice people who took part on Monday: “Thanks, Will. It was a great day. Grateful for what you’re doing to support women’s racing.” “I just wanted to add my feedback and say how much I enjoyed the race…
-
Cheers for that! Even found a puddle to ride through on the way home, those mudguards came into good use.
-
Thanks guys, the races were great! We were really lucky with the weather and the riders enjoyed the circuit a lot. Thanks to all the regulars that helped out especially Jenny and Dave who helped behind the scenes before the day too, it’s people lik…
-
Also, drivers, please make sure you have enough petrol to get around at least 100 miles of racing!
-
So last minute checks: Drivers, please be there for a drive round with the comms leaving at 7.30am. All marshals please be there for the 8.15am meeting. I shall be there to open up the hall from 6.30ish but need to nip out on to the circuit to dro…

Most clubs cancel all their club runs on the one race day they have per year. Especially if they are hosting two races on the same day...
-
That’s great. Cheers guys. Let’s get as much pot to the HQ as possible.
-
Cheers Steve. Could come in very useful at the HQ. Does anybody have access to some really, really big pots to cook with? I’d love to be able to make something hot for the marshals and volunteers to have between races, a couple of big pots of …

Any help at the HQ between 11 and 12.30 would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys
-
Cheers Ed, that’s fantastic! Could do with maybe a red flag marshal on the circuit at one point, or if you have an iPad (to video the riders going over the line), some help on the finish line would be appreciated?
-
Dan, that’s amazing! Thank you. The busiest time at the HQ will be between 11 and 12.30, the men will be returning from the morning race and the women will be signing on. The women will hopefully finish around 3 and it would be good to get everythi…

I’m around to help out with this if you need a semi-useless judge like you got out of me last time. I’ll bring stronger specs this time...

HELLO CCA IS ANYBODY THERE? I have pretty much got everything sorted now, I’ve had to accept offers of help from other local clubs which doesn’t look too good... but needs must. WE NEED CAKE. Seriously, there are going to be 110 r…
-
Cheers Shelton, I’ve got you and Emma to help at the HQ for the day if that’s alright? Bits of signing on, general sandwich making and cake serving...
