Am hoping to make it for 8.30am if anyone else fancies the testing conditions. Might repeat a similar route to last week - same sort of weather. Into the gales first. Could push it over 60 a touch?

    Me, Sam K and Peter out today. Pete and Sam on fixies. Pete is going to have a strong 2011 season I think!

    I think we saw Ash in Henlow - we were just distracted by an eedyat in a VW Golf waggling hand gestures at us. Beat a tractor when going up to Whempstead but to be fair by then we had the gales in our sails. It was brutal atop of Therfield way in the wind - take care anyone with deep rim wheels...

    63 @ just over 16mph.

    Pete: did your garmin record this ride's climbing? I'd like to know how accurate these mapping websites are. I have my suspicions. Bikemap says 1738ft.
