no juniors today Nat...so well done....Theo and his dad Daniel went with fast boys to Grantham...I tagged along on a fixie and couldn't stay the pace 6 miles north of Moggerhanger..so I turned round and returned having done 45 miles or so at 16-17 mph for the ride........hope the others had a good one and that Theo got back o.k....he was flying last I saw and came 2nd in age and 4th overall at Hillingdon yesterday........well done Theo
Hey Geoff, sorry you turned back.. We came back to look for you and guessed that's what you had done...we tried some steady thru and off after Buckden when Daniel had fixed a puncture... Not bad.. Got us home a bit quicker...it all split around Wrestlingworth and last I remember I was hanging on to young Dave's wheel at the end... I had 69 miles at 18's..about right..well done everyone , especially Theo!
No problem Carmelo...did tell peeps that I would do that if I couldn't hang in there...not fair on you geared and fitter guys to hold you back. I reckon that a 50 mile fixie is about right as the work done is equivalent to another 10-15 freewheel.
only 1 hill with no barrington
became 2 hills with chapel hill ( so not barrington :-) )
nice big group enjoying the start time
4 punctures - first before we started ( guilty )
but quick wheel change and on our way
team mechanic doing repairs on the road
but no rest against the team car
Sam " I have lost it " no where to be seen on the sprint
( wheel sucker trophy must be slowing him down )
kept dry so a good bonus
coffee was good
Thanks for the ride guys i started fadding at about 20miles to go and droped off at about 5miles to go unfortunatly i hit the wall before getting back to ashwell so it was a long ride to letchworth but good training.
There was one very good thing about Theo being slightly more tired than me.... I won the sprint into Ashwell. RESULT. Anyway great ride and thanks to the stronger rider being patient with me.
