Saturday 5th Feb 9.30am ride

edited February 2011 in Club runs
Hello all,

Looks like its going to be mild tomorrow, but pretty windy !

Here is my suggestion for a route:

http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-kingdom/-ashwell/912126773616156947 (with the variation that we are going to go to Great Munden/Wood end to miss out the cyclecross lane at Haultwick !!). More trees/hedges on this route so should be a bit more sheltered from the wind than a ride north of Ashwell.

See you tomorrow

David

p.s. For those of you who would like an easier ride or haven't been out for a while and fancy getting back into it, tomorrow is the first of the CCA introductory rides. 1-2 hours @ a steady pace (12-14mph). Starting from the same place as normal @9.30am.

  • I'm giving this a miss today - it's too F. windy!
Maybe take a sail with you.

    See you next week

  • Six hardnuts out today on a ride that could best be described as 'brutal' !!

Ride started out with a battering on the Bygrave road. Winds were so strong on this bit that we almost got overtaken by a runner & his dog !! Luckily was a bit calmer as we got to the other side of Weston, but picked up a bit on the way back.

Highlight of the route was on the wallington road, where a gale force gust blew us from literally one side of the road to the other. Still managed the traditional sprint though which was won by Emma with a surprising super-fast burst of speed!!

35 miles in total @ one of the slowest averages speeds we have ever done for a Saturday ride!
