today was much better than last week for me. For start it wasn't raining which helped and also we managed to arive earlier with enought time to warm and get ready. ollie came of the track out of breath but pleased as his placing had greatly improved.

now it was the turn of me and cameron. on the start line we noticed that there were a lot more and a lot more better riders than last week. we both stayed with the group but it wasn't long before the dreaded hill broke us apart from the peleton. we then yo-yo'ed back and fourth from the group. I had just caught them on the straight before the hill and wasn't expecting to stay. but i managed to hold onto them up the hill. in the rest of the race not much else happened and i finished 11th over the line. It was the best race I have done this year but not my best placing. unfortunatly cameron lost the group all togther and when that happens it's almost imposible too catch them.

My dad was doing well to start with but once he was dropped his self-estime started to drop and he was only lapped on the 2 laps to go.

Phill was racing along with richard, and his lovley giant tcr advanced unfortunatly we only saw the start of the 3rd cat race as we had to go.

the turn out was less than last week (probably because of mk bowl) it would be nice to see more off the club race and not just neccercarely at hog hill.
  • Good report Theo, sounds like a good day, sorry I couldn't make it today but hope to be back with you both next week.
  • It is hard riding on your own in no man's land; and that's where I was having been dropped. I simply couldn't up my game to get back into the pack and it was as if my mojo had a slow puncture as the gap increased from metres to kilometers. With 2 laps to go I was 2km behind and thus lapped. I was withdrawn from the race. So a much worse result than last week, but had I really done so badly? I got dropped on lap 9 and that was better than last week. So some comfort. Hog Hill hard, make no mistake. It seems then that Cameron and I had similar days.

Theo's report is accurate but underplays his heroic fight back to get on terms with the pack. Early on he was properly dropped when we last saw him at the top of the circuit and assumed, 'for him, his race is over'. However he fought back and was in the mix by the next lap. Inspiring stuff. Has he tammed Hoggenburg?

Phil, Richard; how did you get on?

  • Good Reports. I will be racing next week, but I ( as well as Andrew Leverton+ Geoff) was at Manchester Velodrome yesterday-Good Fun, i had the right gear so on the sprints I was overtaking a couple of men. Good Stuff

  • agree about reports....well done all round..esp. Greg and Theo....know about that no-mans land Daniel....not a nice place to be.....as for Manchester Velodrome..was a lot of fun...Jon and Andrew did well as usual........Now here's the proposition.......if there are enough riders adult and youth who want to give it a try I will book a 3 hour slot at the vekodrome for beginners as well as experienced riders......Those who have done it will know just how exhilarating the boards can be......let me know...perhaps someone can do a doodle for people to fill in their wishes.
