Recently the forum has seen a rise in spam - dodgy looking 'cheap cycling tops' ads. It could be worse!

I do my best to delete these discussions as soon as they appear.

I'm going to have to change the way new members create accounts. Until now, I've had no vetting, and membership is instant. This will have to change.

So, from very soon, if you want to register, you will have to wait for registration to be confirmed by me to be able to write on the forum. I'm pretty irregular on checking these requests - so could take a couple of days. Sorry.

In the meantime, avoid clicking on links to these obviously dodgy sites.

Just so you know. The forum now has an application approval system. You no longer have the ability to set up new accounts and go. Sorry Ronnie, Reggie....

I will try and keep an eye on new applications to approve - apologies if I'm not that quick off the mark. It might take a day or so at times.

I may email applicants a simple CCA question before approval - like what's the ideal gear ratio for Croydon Hill - if your forum name request appears a bit 'spammy'.

Hopefully this will stop the spam.
