Club run review - Sunday 14th December

edited December 2008 in Club runs
9 out in the club run - and similar again in a fast group.

Quite cold - but dry and zero wind. Club Runners opted to go east - keeping low and out beyond Shepreth, Foxton and looping back through Barrington. A good ride - and if we'd have gone to Ashwell station as a detour it could become a handy 40 miler route. As it was - it was just under and at about 16.5mph.

If Geoff had his way - it would have been a bit faster. Note to others - never tell Geoff to take it down a mile an hour or two - it seems to have a reverse effect! Note to Geoff - was your flat tyre some kind of subsequent fate?

The 9.30am start seemed quite well received. Something to keep doing for the next couple of months to help defrost things?

  • The fast group went up towards Graffham at a stupid rate of knots! We did around 68 miles with me doing 86 and feeling pretty good despite a three month retirement :)
  • Great to see you back in the saddle Andre.....Martin......you rotter...hahaha. I really did keep a steady pace right up till the end staying on the front, and yes it probably was Bob's guardian angel who made me ride over that flint to puncture 3 miles from home. It was a good ride and I think all enjoyed it.

I won't be riding next Sunday as I am in Durham at daughters farm. Have a good ride....I expect to be riding a lot around Xmas so how about some suggestions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
