Just a quick question? In light of what has happened recently, skelders makes a good point on the power of social networking sites. A lot of other clubs have locked forums in which you have to be a member to view as well as post. They also have an open section so as to not discourage new members.
In view of this is it possible for the forum to be locked, I have noticed on several occasions, addresses, phone numbers, meeting places, who is going to be out on this occasion due to a sportive or race and most people comment on new kit and bikes.
In retrospect it is surely a goldmine for potential thieves aka (can't say what I really think here) scumbags.
Just thought I would open it up for discussion.

A good question.
Although the feedback is that the forum is a great tool to help attract like-minded cyclists to CCA - given this week's incident - I think for now at least we'll make all categories visible to signed-in members only. Even if just for peace of mind. And means we can be relaxed in our virtual clubroom. I'm sure we'd all hate to see the banter dissolve.
I should point out that there's no firm evidence that this forum is the cause of anything: Tim's address isn't on this forum, nor could I track it down using the information I could get from the forum and applying all my online tricks in the trade. Pretty watertight. Tim - I hope this does something to reassure you.
Be vigilant y'all.
:-(
Cheers
now back to those green suede slip ons....
